Vance has the best chance of possibly getting those younger voters given he his tasked with anti-corruption. That is what the younger crowd wants. I have young boys at college and one that just got out a while back, and they and their friends loved DOGE. I could tell when that fizzled their engagement went to zero. Like you say, the Epstein stuff was probably big to them as well.

If Massie could get the 18-40s it wouldn’t be a bad pick but it’s hard to say he would deliver that seeing how he couldn’t in his own election.

I’m a fan of a VP that comes from a key state with a lot of electoral votes we need and can bring something slightly different than what the president does.

Trump and Vance worked well on the campaign because Trump was great in the showmanship of a rally and JD was able to pull in younger people.

As much as I love Trump, I think the best chance for the right to get in control in 2028 is the left impeaching him and letting Vance run things.

Otherwise we could be facing an 08 problem.

This is false.

Any republican wanting to win in 2028 is going to have to take their mouth off of Trump's cock asap. The right will always vote for the republican candidate and the left will always vote for the democrat. What we just saw was a combination of two things:

1. republicans were largely uninspired and uninterested in this election due to the state of the country because of Trump's Iran war and tariffs. Lots of them stayed home and didn't vote.
2. The center voted overwhelmingly for democrats

I don't see how any republican wanting to be president can win by staying on a sinking ship.

DOGE wasn’t Vance. Vance is a male Karen, he isn’t going to deliver and his state just went blue.

Nope. Separating from Trump is a losing strategy. If you want to watch the GOP lose the presidency, vote for someone who does that.

Trump is 30% approval and it’s only going to get worse. Trump first became popular because he took a blow torch to the bush family. Opportunity is there for the next person.

I think you understand better what I was saying though. A DeSantis Massie ticket would have the best chance to capture that demographic. They would have to vote though. Vance really doesn’t have it in my opinion, I don’t think he’s going to tip the hat of that demographic as much as he once did. The crowd that stayed home are the libertarian guys who like Massie and DeSantis both, Vance doesn’t pull that at all.

The GOP will leave Trump over the next 2 yrs. This board will call them traitors. Rubio is done,Vance is done. They tied their political future to Trump and now they will just a walk away and try to deflect m.

I never said DOGE was Vance. I said he is charged with anti-corruption in the Administration. Given that role, he has a shot at engaging with younger, particularly male, voters.
Plus, rooting out corruption is something the Administration really does not need Congress to do.

But given the pathetic state of Trump's DOJ, I am not confident any sweeping anti-corruption would bear fruit.
Still, Vance is best situated for that opportunity.

This is a recipe for failure for any GOP nominee.

Does he ask Trump for a pardon on his way out the door?

Separating from the 2024 trump platform is a losing strategy, not separating from Trump.

The ideas that won 2024 are still winners, the problem is Trump hasn’t delivered on them and basically did the opposite. So we need his ideas but not be near his execution of them.

You can’t really show results from Vance on that area. Nick Shirley has done more in regards than Vance. That’s a problem.

This is objectively false.

This is why this week was so stupid. The country sent the opposite message of what you think it did.
