We are dying a slow death with this debt and Trump and GOP have not done anything about it. We know the Dems won't do anything so we have to use all the tools to break this cycle and stop with bailouts and helicopter money.
Of the $40 trillion in national, Trump is responsible for $11.5 of it or 29% of our debt.

US Debt Clock

If Trump and GOP claim to be America First, then what are we doing? Yes some of Trump's was in 2020-2021 Covid funds. But that doesn't explain the current spending.
But what about in 2024 we had $35.5 trillion and in 2 yrs we are at $39.9.
So in 2 yrs Trump and GOP have increased the debt by $4.5 trillion.

Seems he is way more interested in the long game with foreign affairs than kitchen table issues for some reason.

Wut?

Big Beautiful Bill will be adding $3-5 trillion more.

That’s why he had a falling out with Elon and Massie. They opposed the big government, reckless spending.

Anyone “trying as hard as they can to fix this” would start by mentioning it as a major problem, then offer solutions.

So, no.

Elon was upset he didn’t get a huge EV subsidy. Wrong guy to simp for when talking about debt there amigo. It’s also hilarious to bring up a 14 year congressman whose job is to control the purse and the same guy who spent 20 million dollars in his last campaign. A true fiscal conservative….

Spending is a key component keeping the economy afloat.

Cut it and you will be the cause of the crash.

No politician and neither party want to be the one who crashed the economy.

Why does it seem like the only people remotely concerned about it is regular dudes like you and me?

The liberal left doesn't care. They just want to print money, take from the earners and give to the non-earners because they would rather bring everyone else down instead of working to elevate themselves.

The Republicans don't care; they seem to be consumed with self-interest and feign concern over long-term viability. Talk game and then cower when it requires action.

It seems like the only people concerned about national debt are a handful of true fiscal conservatives(not Trump) and regular Joes hoping to stretch the honest living they have made long enough that im not a burden to my kids when im 85.

$40 Trillions don't sound like much anymore. Let's print another $10 Trillion and buy Canada and Greenland.

What do you think is driving this debt? Have you ever looked at a pie chart of US government expenditures? It's mostly entitlement obligations that have been in place for years that just continue to snowball as time goes on. And of course interest on the debt, which is now bigger than defense spending. No politician can (or dares to) do anything about it. It's all made worse by the tens of millions of third world illegals squatting in this country, compliments of the Dems. At least Trump is trying to d something about that.

Patently false.

The debt is so large we need both (1) inflation and (2) economy growth.

Regarding economy growth, Trump has done a lot to restore manufacturing. The Big Beautiful Bill also cut taxes, reduced regulations, and encouraged economic growth. Large language models will also boost productivity in white collar sectors. Claims of human obsolescence are incredibly exaggerated.

Regarding inflation, he keeps calling for interest rate cuts. Not his fault the fed wont comply.

You are aware the vast majority of the debts you are referencing aren’t new spending increases from Trump? Some are but most of that debt was baked into the cake long ago. The interest on the debt alone is 1 trillion per year so even if the next President didn’t spend a single new dollar on spending increases the debt would still increase. It feels like you think that Trump spent 11.5 trillion dollars above and beyond the current budget

Fake news. You parrot retard talking points as usual:

quote:

Musk pushed back, stating he supports cutting all subsidies—including those for EVs and solar—as long as oil and gas subsidies are treated equally and federal deficit spending is reduced. He criticized the broader package as a "disgusting abomination" that balloons the national debt.

quote:

"I was disappointed to see the massive spending bill, frankly, which increases the budget deficit, not just decreases it, and undermines the work that the DOGE team is doing," Musk said.

After midterms, the Administration will re-enact the Gold Standard, and all this will be resolved.

Blame it on Trump, but we can't get the Senate to put anything to vote, much less debate it on the floor. Much of the current spending and growing interest was already in place. Trump tried to increase incomes to offset spending with tarriffs and the judiciariary fights him tooth and nail. I blame the feckless RINO legislators for the current problem.
