So the $17.99 24 K-Cup pack will go up $0.72...

They're gonna price me out of Community Coffee regardless what the price increase is linked to.

No shite. I've been experimenting with other coffees lately, and not going to lie, I used to hate Folgers but now it's growing on me a bit. I'm not a fan of most of the others, though.

Any brands y'all recommend?

Do what now? Neither of these two things have a damn thing to do with the other.

Are you saying neither of these things would be related to Trump being in office?

If you are looking for value, you guys need to buy your coffee from Sam's or Costco. Much cheaper.

I don’t care for their coffee. I like New Orleans Roast but it was pricey even before the pandemic. I stopped drinking morning coffee when I was pregnant with our 9 month old and haven't picked the habit back up but my husband makes coffee every morning.

Hey Chubby, this may come as a shock to you, but its the same with virtually every other commodity and in almost every industry.

All this is just another excuse for corporations to fuk the consumer. Coffee is a market price commodity, just like beef or gold, but they don't price it like that for a reason.

What? All coffee is not the same. There are different quality beans and roasting processes. A company that manufactures and packages coffee might sell it to two different chains of grocery stores for the same price only to see those two chains price it differently. So there are a lot of reasons why your coffee price varies, including greed, quality, droughts and tariffs.

Yeah 4% is no big deal. Why don't they just bump the sales tax a flat 4% in that case? Think of all the revenue. If your grocery bill is $100, it's only going up by $4. Only a poor would complain about that

Coffee is one of the few industries in New Orleans.

I was assured multiple times that American consumers would never pay increased prices due to Trump’s tariffs.

Not sure who you were listening to (probably the voices in your head) but most know there will be increases but knew they would be lower than tariff levels.

The benefits of correcting the huge trade imbalances will be well worth it.

And if a 4% increase on some coffee is what you consider a lib victory then all I can do is .

ETA: Also, this 4% increase doesn't necessarily reach the consumer since retailers like Walmart can still absorb some of it to stay competitive and Rouses etc. run sales regularly. Much ado about nothing.

I don’t consider increased prices winning for anyone.

I'll have to be honest regarding coffee... I don't understand why a tariff would be applied to a commodity that we simply do not produce in the United States. It certainly can't be a protective tariff levied to even the playing field between US producers and foreign producers.

This one has me a bit baffled.

And either people will pay it or they will lose business because alternatives are cheaper. At which point they will look at ways to reduce production costs to become more competitive.

Yes, I do understand economics.

It was just roped in with the 10% flat tariff on all imports.

Trump administration officials have argued that tariffs will ultimately result in better trade deals and bring industries like manufacturing back to the U.S.

Thus far only a handful of trade deals have been reached. Earlier this month, Trump threatened to impose a 50% tariff on Brazilian goods beginning Aug. 1, citing the country’s treatment of its former president, Jair Bolsonaro, who is facing charges of trying to overturn an election loss.

Where was this concern when after Trump won the election Bidin's administration had millions of chickens killed to spike the price of egg and when his policies increased food prices for years?

Also that is 4% of Bidens doubled price over the last 5 years. Sucks but we can't let the sins of the last guy stop us from fixing shite.
