The CRJ-700 can carrry 63 to 78 passengers depending on specific configuration.
Hopefully there were much fewer than that number on board, but loss of any one life is devastating.

No Marine 1 is not a Blackhawk. It may have been from the MCX 1 though because they had some Blackhawks when I was at Quantico.

When you look at the flight paths and flight conditions it is hard to understand how the helo pilot didn't see the plane. They were only doing about 125 kt. Had to be distracted or something.

It’s got to be pretty hard to hit a jet with a helicopter with all the equipment on board.

It’s Class B controlled airspace. There is no way a helicopter should have been there. You are not allowed to fly into that space without talking to the controllers.

FOX commentator said there have been requests for years trying to move the airport away from the base but it keeps getting shot down because Congress likes the easy access to the Airport. That's fricked to.
