No party or affiliation is the better proposition, you don't have to engage in groupthink.

Party or identity group membership is just the admission that the individual has failed.

Covid helped a dangerous group of authoritarian pseudo scientists to control the entire population and it failed miserably. Yet half the population would do it again.

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer put an end to that when she announced she was prohibiting fishing from motorboats. Oh, you can go fishing, but only from a canoe, kayak or rowboat.

Cutting down basketball nets.

Arrows on the floor of grocery stores.

The fact I could sit at a table with 6 maskless people but if I got up to pee I have to put a mask on.

The bartender can bring a drink to a table full of maskless people but I can’t even order a drink at the bar with a mask on.

Vaccine mandates for a vaccine that doesn’t stop you from getting it or spreading it.

And that we were two weeks behind Italy.

Reading some of these I did forget a big one.

Arresting people at the fricking beach. They had it rt all along.

All the public tennis courts in Germantown were chained up but not in Collierville. You see you can easily catch Covid just East of Memphis but the the further East you go in Shelby County the less likely infection becomes. At least that’s what I took from it ?!

Also when we went to the Sugar Bowl on NYE 2021 it blew my mind how strict the Covid regulations were in NOLA. So stupid. Had to show a Vax card to do ANYTHING in that city.

hits me from time to time but me and my wife has what was going to be a massive 2 week cruise (I know..trashy) through the panama canal cancelled. It was going to our last hoorah as husband and wife before having a kid...well we lost that, then lost the make up trip, then the next one. Then settled for a small road trip and realized we needed to start trying.

We have our son now and love him more than words can describe but the government literally took away a chapter of our lives..or at least the end of a chapter of our lives. We spent our last chapter as just us two in and out of quarantines and mask mandates and unable to travel or enjoy ourselves outside of the house fully. I don't think I'll ever not be angry as hell about that

I agree

To be fair, there was a line drawn maybe not from politicians at first but from voters and the media, and later politicians. Trump has a fair share of problems I don’t disagree but it was unfair and how he got blamed and even does to this day.

Shut travel down from China while Pelosi was begging people to stay out in public and everything was ok.Trump was called racist only for Biden to keep travel shutdown also from China. A few weeks later Pelosi and democrats demanding restrictions and shutdowns.

Riots were ok but visiting grandma wasn’t. Forced restrictions on small businesses while so many big businesses and corporations absolutely thrived. Showed me democrats were the party of big money.

Blessed the riots where black people died while black owned businesses burned down across the country but politicians on January 6 got “scared” and that’s too much.

Vaccines close to being done under Trump equals bad. Under Biden, demand everybody get them or “you’re a murderer” or racist even though blacks weren’t getting them.

Now blames trump for shutdowns even though it was their own party demanding it and their own party keeping shutdowns after trump opened it back up. RINOS were also bad through all this.

Also, his supporters screamed from the rooftops not to do a temp shutdown, this isn’t Monday morning QB, most of us knew better, as did trump, but he caved

More than half IMO.

And for the record, the Rs were only slightly better than the Ds in this whole ordeal.

Corona can't get you at your table but will kill you if you don't wear a piece of dirty cloth under your nose walking to and from.

And also it stalks the bars waiting on 10pm so it can get you

One way traffic in grocery stores
plexi glass
strong arming parents to vax kids
masks
letting people die alone in hospitals and nursing homes

It was all such dumb, fricking bullshite.

If it taught anyone anything, it's that absolutely no part of the government can be trusted. Every single 3 letter agency should be abolished. That goes for the FDA as well. The government doesn't have the citizens best interests at heart. It's all about money and power. Lives mean absolutely nothing. That's a fact.

Of all the dumb shite, I found the masks to be the most retarded. I spent 14 of my 30 years in the CBRN (Chem, bio, rad, nuke) field in the military. I'm a SME in PPE. Paper and cloth masks literally do nothing other than keep us from spitting on one another. At no time have I ever come in contact with a chemical or biological hazard where I whipped out a surgical mask and thought "ahhhh, now I'm safe." It's stupid. Nothing more than a placebo. And they convinced people it would help. And idiots are still wearing them... alone.... in their cars.... outside.

It's like no one took 9th grade biology and learned that viruses aren't living and require a host. They can't exist outside by themselves. They don't float around in the air for hours at a time.

Our population is fricking stupid.

How bars had to stay closed but restaurants with bars could stay open. Those that could stay open were racking in the money. They’d clear out sections and have bands playing with people packed like sardines. Made no sense, but when you have democrats running shite, this is what you get.

People dying alone in hospitals because you could only have 1 visitor during limited times and even then, not in the ICU.

Police showing what they’d do if they were ordered to confiscate guns.

People not being outraged when politicians were caught maskless or breaking some rule.

Doctors cowtowing to corporate medicine and not prescribing Ivermectin or Hydroxychloroquine while building a personal supply for family.

The head of local government shutting things down here single handedly but then getting harassed by Karens who wanted him to create and consult with a panel of 10 or so “subject matter experts” before loosening restrictions.

My kid’s oral surgeon who made me wait in the parking lot during surgery and bashed forearms instead of shaking hands but gave him a prescription for OXYs before my kid had any discomfort.

The TD thread where posters (Scruffy et al) were so off-base and drove hysteria wanting to sound enlightened.

The local sports radio station’s last studio broadcast before going remote when the hosts were holding back tears and saying how COVID was this generation’s WW2 or Great Depression.

Not being able to call it the Wuhan Flu or China Virus without Karens losing their minds.

“Super spreader events” that were not porn-related.

That’s a start.

This is such bullshite.

The number of people opposed to “temp shutdowns” was fricking minuscule and were basically Nazis.

The Republican base was as in support of that as the Democrats.

I love revisionist history.

“Everyone was against temp shutdowns”

“Everyone was against the massive stimulus packages that Trump signed”

Why do people continue to agonize and languish over this shite? Its over, its gone, and its not coming back. I hated all that shite too, thought it was one giant crock of shite, but I choose to stop thinking about it because it doesnt fricking matter anymore. Your continued whining about it makes you no better than covidians that got off to the whole thing. MOVE ON ITS OVER
