Two rightwing influencers have been charged with felonies in Minneapolis over attempts in the state’s election primary to disguise themselves in what they called “Muslim garb” and claim they were local voters.

quote:

Hennepin county attorney Mary Moriarty announced the charges at a press conference on Wednesday, saying both would be charged with felonies for unlawful voting and identity theft. The two men entered multiple polling places and identified themselves using the names of registered Minnesota voters in those precincts, Moriarty said, thus intentionally misrepresenting their identities to election judges.

All he'd need is a Minnesota resident to vouch for him, per their own laws.

The dem election officials don't like to have their fraud friendly voting practices exposed.

I bet that they didn't actually vote.

Reminds me of when they wanted to arrest Sean Hannity for showing how easy it was to cross the border.

Theyd sentence him to death if they could. Anyone who embarrasses them by pointing out how stupid or corrupt they are deserved to get Kirked in their minds.

From what I understand, he wasn't "caught" until he released the video showing what happened.

If anything, he'd get his own reward

Remember when Jeb! sent that redhead to bird dog Trumps rallies, no one was charged with a felony.

They know O'Keefe caught them so they did this...

Isn’t there protection for journalists going under cover to expose criminal behavior? The intention behind the behavior wasn’t to vote; it was to report how easy it is to fool election workers by wearing a hijab.

Did he actually cast a vote or just show he could get to the voting booth under other names?

If the latter, then he should be prosecuted. If the former, then they should get bent that he exposed their bullshite.

There's something that should protect him in most normal places, I'm not familiar with it, I've heard of it. I can't think of it at the moment, and it probably won't apply in Minnesota. I don't know if that type of thing is compatible with Sharia if you're white and non- muslim.

Eta: not if they actually voted.

quote:

Voters still need to have other ways to verify their identity, and vouchers have to sign an affidavit under penalty of perjury that they personally know the voter they’re vouching for. A voter can vouch for up to eight others.

O’Keefe and Higby did not sign these affidavits or obtain ballots, Moriarty said. If they had signed those affidavits, it would have been perjury, she said. The affidavits are a safeguard of the vouching system.
So what is the charge again?

quote:

Moriarty said some of the names of voters used by the two men were deceased, but others were alive.
Let's repeat the imbecile's statement once again. "Moriarty said some of the names of voters used by the two men were deceased."

quote:

“These locations – our communities’ schools, churches, and senior centers – are the heart of our democracy and as such should be places of safety and peace,” Simon said in a statement.
Judging by the deceased "voters" Moriarty mentioned, perhaps places to "rest in peace,” would be a more accurate description?

Not sure of any specific protections for journalist posing as crime fighters.

Depends how far they actually went.
