Isn’t there protection for journalists going under cover to expose criminal behavior? The intention behind the behavior wasn’t to vote; it was to report how easy it is to fool election workers by wearing a hijab.

While I can see how there should be, I can also see how this could be abused by virtually anyone. “No officer, I wasn’t soliciting prostitution, I’m a citizen journalist working on a “story” about how easy it is to find a prostitute”

this is lawfare.

They didn't break any laws, unless merely giving someone a false name is a crime. In that case 99% of the women I've ever hit on in bars belong in jail.

This isn't complicated. If Don Lemon didn't commit a crime when he stormed an active church service with rioters in this very same state, I'm not sure how they plan to prosecute this with a straight face.

ETA: if they throw OKeefe in jail for giving a false name, what will they do with Ilhan? LOL.

I mean, it is a fairly important distinction. Essentially turning yourself in and getting caught are very different. One shows the flaw in the system and one does not. Their entire purpose was exposing the flaw in the system, which clearly they did.

He isn’t being charged for voting illegally several times.

He is being charged for exposing the grift.

James is doing what Don LèMon claimed he was doing with the church.

this is a stretch. they never voted, they never attested to the names given, they simply asked questions. they may have danced on the line, but prosecuting this when they have no interest in the shite Don Lemon and Ilhan Omar did reeks of lawfare.

People can be obtuse if they want, but we all know what this is. Slotkin admitted it very recently. They want people like OKeefe, Shirley, and young republican wouldbe staffers to live in constant fear of prosecution.

Rather than fix the problems revealed by the journalism, they want to prosecute the journalist.

He was pulling a stunt in order to further a political agenda.......not out of public service and so the State of Minnesota decided to call them on it.

It gets dropped overall, but O'Keefe is smarmy.

No wonder they charged him. Democrats don’t like to see their cheating pointed out for everyone to see.

THIS is the video that Minnesota leftist prosecutors charged Cam Higby with a FELONY over

He dressed as a Muslim and asked if he could vote with ZERO ID under Minnesota's "vouching" system

"Do we need ID?"

WORKER: "NOPE!" ??

HIGBY: "I have 7 other people who I live with."

And the worker says those people can be vouched for to, and "NO ID FOR ANY"

This man exposed a corrupt election system and their answer is to criminally charge him, despite NO BALLOTS BEING CAST in this case

Minnesota is becoming like a 3rd world nation. Its elections are corrupt and voters need to elect Republicans to make it stop

GreenChiliTiger: Using a fake name and birthdate to gain illegal citizenship and faking a marriage to your brother to get him a green card, then run for and get elected to the US congress is not a non-story!

Also GreenChiliTiger: Journalist using a fake name and asking questions to see if a poll worker would let you vote illegally is a sick and sadistic crime that should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law!
