They aren't the problem so much as a symptom of the problem that's inherent to all. We are drawn the these stories, and negative stories in general. So for any one looking to draw attention to themsleves or some irrational cause, this is a way to do it.

More importantly, terrorism items didn't effective because of the number of causalites, it's effective because every incident gets massive coverage, and we believe that the risk is so much greater than reality, and respond based on what we believe.

I don't think regulation is the solution whatsoever, but I do think we need to be aware of how we feed the issue.

apparently they are not familiar with your 3.5 million previous posts. This was clearly a gotcha attempt from the get go as your ideology on this subject has been defined explicitly over the last few years.

Good point. I would like to see the Joe Friday approach to news reporting however. Can that be regulated? To a point. Moratorium of say seven days on the politics of the event. That way the facts should have time to come out and then those opinions can be made based on the facts and not innuendos.

I'm really starting to think that maybe that "freedom of speech" thingy might need to be amended to read "freedom of the facts".

If people are going to do mass shootings, I wish they would at least make it worth our wild. Like kkk/skinhead rally's, or antifa/blm rally's. There are plenty great options. Also the oscars....those are all great opportunities to make a mass shooting all useful means in society. Instead they shoot up movie theaters, night clubs, schools, etc.. Places were people are just minding their own business and doing normal stuff.

How would you "ban reporting" on something that 20,000 people witnessed live, in which 500+ were shot and 50+ were actually killed?

That's a lot of people, along with their friends and relatives, to have to shut up.

yeah please explain how an incident like this doesn't get reported

We just need healthy doses of shame.

You shoot up a city and your family gets to move to a new country.

If you don't "care" about shooting 500 innocent strangers, you think you care much about your brother who you barely speak to?

Nothing happens in a vacuum. He didn’t wake up and decide one morning to murder 50 people. And we didn’t wake up one morning as a nation and say, “Let’s foster nihilist egoism.” But we do and we’re creating dozens of Paddocks.

The initial reporting is not the problem. It is all the speculation they do when they run off on idiotic tangents.

A story like this breaks and there is only so much known at the time. In an effort to entertain they drag up every ex somebody and speculate and speculate and offer theories etc...

Nauseating.

Too bad that the freedom of the press now seems to include comedians and other thoughtless nitwits.

Today's press are full of lies, the conspire with the DNC, push a hateful narrative, and systematically attack the U.S. constitution and the Bill of Rights.

They aren't innocent by a long shot. Quit acting like they are only doing their job. They do their job very rarely anymore. Now.... back to Russia.
