What common sense gun proposal, for example the one the senate voted on and defeated in 2013, would have prevented recent mass shootings?

Certainly not today's.

there's more science behind the media causing mass killings than gun ownership causing them

like seriously, you can't be serious?

so you think Anderson Cooper, not virtually unrestricted access to firearms, is the problem? Jesus fricking Christ

a reasonable society would not just sit back and allow access to guns without any restrictions, which will increase the likelihood hood of another mass shooting. what we need is common sense regulation of guns that no reasonable person could oppose.

we need to adopt mainstream values of today to this problem of mass shootings. when the founding fathers drafted the protections of arms in the 2nd Amendment, they could NEVER imagine semiautomatic weapons like we have today. they clearly only intended to protect muzzleloaders, and could never conceive of 40 round clips. it's clear they never intended for THIS to be covered by the 2nd Amendment

there... I fify

you got me... don't spend much time here, so the OP didn't seem completely out of the bounds of reason relative to some of the crazier shite I've seen posted.

How would you "ban reporting" on something that 20,000 people witnessed live, in which 500+ were shot and 50+ were actually killed?

Msm mysteriously regulated themselves, with vegas. We barely know more now about that shooting, than we did an hour after it happened.

So..we do know that the msm can keep themselves in check, when they want to.

You seriously think the media is the crux of the problem? Yikes
There is zero question that Media coverage is a contributor.
None!
Not even debatable.

Same is true of Islamic terrorism. The perpetrators' effort in these mass killings almost uniformly is social impact far beyond immediate circles of the victims. No coverage = no societal impact = no "fame" or widespread terror effect.

These murderers use media as their tool.

First report from a mainstream source yesterday reported he used AR15. Everything now says shotgun and .38 pistol only. Will be interesting to see the angle since uncle joe advocated shotguns.

I've always wondered why if Muslims hate the decadence of the West, why they didn't bomb Hollywood rather than the Towers.
