What are the negatives on Shapiro and Beshear?
Posted on 5/28/26 at 11:01 am to Pettifogger
Of your list, Shapiro is the most viable and electable, imho. He had enough sense and political acumen to say "NO" to being Kameltoe's running mate.

She is viable for the same reason Trump was viable, on a very simplistic level though. She's a populist that has a lot of support.
She's young and fairly attractive and has a large social media presence. She will also have the Bernie Bros on her side and Bernie's donors. This makes her very viable.
Can she possibly get the nomination? Basic wisdom says absolutely not. But when you look at her likely opponents, you have to say to yourself "why not"?
All that said, she's a terrible candidate and in spite of my low confidence in the American electorate, I maintain enough confidence to strongly believe she'd get crushed in a general election. She will have all the stupidity and cringe, and none of the "I'm not Trump" during campaign activities.

She could win the democratic primary but would lose the general . The democrats base is. Far left like her.

I don’t think moderate Democrats are in favor right now with their base. I read lib twitter and Reddit comments for kicks sometimes. There’s an underlying anger that Biden (they think a moderate) squandered four years. For all of their hatred towards Trump they want someone like him on their side. Someone loud and willing to talk shite. That’s probably more a symptom of where we are as a society but I struggle seeing the moderate white guy card going well in their primaries.

It's just you.
She's not a viable candidate, she's a fricking moron probably backed by Chinese or Russian money to be elected into our congress to create a shitshow and muddy up the waters.
She is literally the stupidest person to ever be elected to Congress and that's saying a lot.

I told you guys when I first started posting here and you all laughed saying "I hope the make her the face of the dem party" that her election meant the party had been taken over by DSA.
Since her election, the cancer has spread throughout this nation.

She is also attractive
WTF is with some of you? She's not remotely attractive aside from her tits. And those are attached to the rest of her. She's a four at best with her mouth shut. When she speaks shes a two.
I get different strokes and all but at least be realistic. That bitch is homely as a hedge fence.

She is closer to Trump politics in the way she attacks the other side without playing the “decency” card
She does this with completely fabricated "facts" and melts like a snowcone in July when anyone challenges her version of reality.
As a VP candidate to Newsome? Yeah, she's viable. As a Presidential candidate? That would be a bigger gift to Republicans than Harris was. I truly hope it's AOC, but it's going to be Newsome unless people really start paying attention to how bad California has gotten because of Gav.

This is such a stupid frickin thread.
I hope they do decide to run her in '28. It would be every bit as easy of a win as that ridiculous attempt they made with Kamala Harris.

She is immature and naive .
She is not attractive,
Famke Janssen is attractive.

Of course she is. Biden got 81 million (roll eyes) votes and he was a senile old man running as a traditional American Muh Moderate. A hottie Latina handing out rich people’s money will do well as a Dem POTUS candidate.

You and a bunch of other Demonic idiots.
Posted on 5/28/26 at 3:53 pm to NIH
She gets far more coverage than she deserves even by Democrat standards. Her and "The Squad" have always been kept at arm's length by the leadership. After what she did with the Amazon thing on Long Island a few years back, she would be lucky to come in as a top 3 candidate in a citywide race.

Let’s not forget that Kamala probably would have won if not for the assassination attempts and lawfare against Trump. It doesn’t matter who the dem candidate is. They’re all carbon copies of each other. And the unwashed masses are just waiting to be told who they’re supposed to vote for. Scoffing at a potential AOC candidacy would be a mistake. She would have all of mainstream media gaslighting the public on how amazing she is and hiding her flaws.

I think they're arguably the most actually formidable candidates but I'm not sure the mood on the L is ready for them.
Maybe if they do unexpectedly bad in the midterms or something.

I think her getting traction is closer to Trump in 2016 than people want to admit. No. Trump got traction all by himself, in spite of the media machine railing against him the whole time. AOC has been a media darling from day one and people still can't stand her.
Y’all love to rewrite history.
The dude had the leftist media eating out of his palm in the 2015 primary.
He called in nearly every morning to morning joe. CNN and MSNBC carried every single rally from start to finish.
They loved him and wanted to carry him across the finish line because they thought they could destroy him in the general.
As soon as the nomination was secure the switch flipped.
