Iran is going to permanently control the Strait of Hormuz

They are going to toll every ship that passes through it. There’s not a damn thing America can do about it. The sooner we accept the new normal and move on, the sooner this cycle will end. Sadly, the IRGC will be entrenched and enriched with these new tolls.

If it happens, Trump will go down as the hands-down worst president of all time. Total loser.

There will be a ground war. Whether one side is American or armed, lead and trained by Americans is the only question.

Zero chance of nuclear bombs.
Near zero chance of ground invasion.
Too toxic politically. These are the only two options to open the strait.
It’s Iran’s for good.

It seems like Trump let someone get him into something he doesn’t know how to handle, doesn’t it?

Iran will “control” nothing. Can they make navigation difficult? Sure. But as long as they do that none of their stuff gets through either. Let’s see how long they can last being out of the oil business.

We blinked first with the MOU and let all their tankers through. They have us in a chokehold. They are able to tolerate infinitely more economic pain than the US is. Our citizens are bitching about $1-2 gas price increases like it’s the end of the world.
Politically it’s not sustainable in the US. For Iran they can do whatever they want because it’s essentially a dictatorship.

Honestly, this is the outcome to hope for at this point. Trump is going to surrender some kind of way, and this might be the least bad/ costly scenario. Much worse would be escalation of warfare, inability to secure surrender at all for months with worldwide economic collapse
Turns out having a bunch of Fox News hosts with hairdos in charge isn’t a great strategy.

I hate to agree.. but it certainly seems that way.
I don’t know when we, as a nation, are going to learn there is no good faith negotiating with Islamic ideology for which strategic lying is a tenet of that faith.
Trump can be the best negotiator on planet Earth and it’s still not going to move the needle with these people. They aren’t LIKE us. Period.

If that truly ends up being the case that screws every President irrespective of party for a long time to come. Also puts a lot of pressure on the UAE and Qatar and Kuwait.
Saudis could be winners because they are building pipelines to the Red Sea. So much for UAE dropping out of OPEC

The strait hormuz will not matter soon. The rest of the middle east is sick of Iran and they are and have been building ways around using the straits.

Based on the upvotes, there are quite a few a few posters here actively rooting against the president. I don’t believe that many truly believe the OP. It’s absolutely silliness.

Iran's leadership knows what's going on in the U.S. Their plan is simple. Just take the horrific beating from Trump, offer fake peace deals for a break in the bombing and then go back to attacking oil shipments. They need to keep it up 4 months. Then, they expect the Dems to take both houses of Congress and refuse to pass anything Trump wants until he pulls out our military.
If the Dems get beat in Nov. Iran will capitulate to Trump's demands and a real peace deal will end the fight.
