With the government involved, nothing will ever be built on those properties

In case you missed it, they already rolled out a development master plan for pacific palisades that included massive section 8 developments.

This is happening in Guadalupe County Texas in a different way. These corporate building groups are buying farmland and building 2000 unit developments of 1000-1250 square foot house right against the county line of Comal where New Braunfels is located. Now all the problems of San Antonio can come to what was once a safer community. Guadalupe wants the tax base so that they can grow a traditionally poor county. It sucks because New Braunfels and Comal County have no means to prevent this

Yes, their home country. The city, state and federal government have no obligation to house anyone, much less people who aren't supposed to be here in the first place.
Taking this property is just another example of the government not understanding the problem (thus providing the wrong "fix"), not caring if what they are doing only looks good (and thus continues to prove to be ineffective), or both.
The problem isn't that they are homeless, the problem is what leads the majority of them to be homeless in the first place and that is overwhelmingly addiction.

Two liberal women just lost their jobs for saying the same about Texas floods. Not everyone living there were democrats.

yes.

Just watch every one of these liberal politicians will have friends and family members who are involved in the process and will get paid for doing nothing. They will be awarded contracts and subcontract it right out to someone else. It will be layered like a motherfricker.

40% of the best real estate saved for losers who can't afford it.
Amazing

not tell us the rest of the story as to why they lost their jobs. You know, the part about the loss of adolescent life? the drowning, dead kids. You need to add that part.
You know, just for context. Apples and oranges and all.

In fairness, this is probably a single 175 unit multi family project.

What specifically is it that everyone hates about this plan? Should they just do nothing and tell everyone to rebuild and good luck to them?
1.) it is high value land and people who can afford it should live there. You don't give 40% of the most valuable land to crackheads and criminals. They haven't earned it.
2.) nobody who can afford to live on the beach wants to be neighbors with a multi unit project with riff raff congregating, smoking drugs, and bringing crime to their block.

So they are going to appropriate ~40% of the properties under eminent domain then build government crack houses on them?
Sounds like another great idea by California politicians to bring jobs and families back to CA.
I wonder how many Section 8 multi unit apartments are being built down the block from Gavin Newscum and Nancy Pukelosi's homes?

Yes. That is absolutely what they should do. Why should they do anything different?
If it's My land... and MY house that burned down.. why should I not be able to rebuild it? What's YOUR reasoning for me not being able to rebuild MY house on MY land that burned down?

That's a tremendous amount of fricking stupid for this early in the day. Usually shite like this is posted late at night.

I did not see that in the article did you?
The Hotshot Wakeup had 2 guests on his podcast last week talking about the fires. One of them mentioned that many of the homes were people who were not “wealthy” the houses were bought 50+ years ago and passed down generation after generation. Now that the home is gone the resident can’t afford to rebuild because many or most did not have insurance and costs are too damn high today. So they sell their land and move on with their life.
My guess is that is where these CA funds will be spent. Make it to difficult and expensive to rebuild and force people to sell. Not exactly eminent domain but same results.
The entire situation was a cluster frick, both city and state failed on so many levels and knew years ago this would happen. From not maintaining and stocking the reservoirs to not mandating prescribed burns and landscaping regulations to not ensuring the fire started on NYE was fully extinguished to the power company starting the secondary fire because they had live wires to transistors that were supposed to be decommissioned to falsifying records after the fact to cover this up.
This could have been 100% preventable.
I forget which town they said is going to burn to the ground next but all the mistakes made with Palisades apply to many of the communities in the hills there.
