If only 1% of fed workers are in the office and gov still works, why push for RTO?

Seems pretty simple they are not needed and just let them go.

Cheaper if they leave on their own, whether they volunquit immediately or within the first year.

The federal government is incredibly bloated. Hell, the Pentagon cannot even pass a basic audit.

It is time … and everyone knows it

I work in gov, and had the opportunity to work with a couple different agencies recently. Two of the federal agency offices I was working with were atleast 2 days remote per week, each. One of those offices was probably a lot more than that.

Blows my mind. My agency is full in office lol

Because not everyone working from home is lazy. RTO will weed out the lazy ones.

Believe it or not, some people get more work done at home then in an office

Cry me a river. How many of these emoloyees were hired on under the assumption they would WFH fulltime?? Guessing it’s close to zero. And this costs taxpayers dearly.

full in office is how gov't work should be. The amount of civilians in gov't in DoD holy crap they are deadweight in most cases. Every once in awhile there's a great civilian but 90% of the time they suck because they literally don't do anything. If that's the case across all government agencies then off the rip 50% can get cut.

Work from home: people feel busy because the spend 6 hrs/day on calls…

I work from home 2 days a week and compared to my colleagues in the plants… those guys work longer and harder hours.

Recently we had a long thread on this and a couple of fellas posting dozens of times about how they were more productive from home, while posting on TD....while at work from home

Now Im sure someone will say "but they could be doing that at work as well"

Youre right maybe there are just shatty employees who should be fired and have nothing to do with where they work

I think most federal employees work in place. 99.9% of fsis goes to work in a plant every day. Post office, VA all go to work every day. It’s mainly administrative people and hr people working from home. Maybe they’re talking about federal workers in DC? frick em.

The whole 2 years severance is nuts. Give them 3 to 6 months at best.

They all probably have other jobs and collect the government check for doing nothing. I say if they are not in the office 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday from here on out they have committed fraud and can be fired for cause
