How do you think they compromised Mike Johnson?

It's always been a curiosity of mine what they do to newly arrived senators and congressmen to get them to abandon their long-held beliefs and campaign promises - often the very core of what they were elected on.

In Johnson's case, it's an interesting situation because he is now veering from positions held just months ago as a regular congressman.

The below quote really can't be interpreted any other way besides Johnson has been "compromised", which can mean any number of things: blackmail, bribery, threats, etc.

You could say he now has new information that he did not have before, but Johnson was a sitting congressman. I doubt there is some earth shattering new data that made him change one of his main stances so quickly.

quote:

While the speaker has remained noncommittal about any one option, he has repeatedly expressed a personal desire to send aid to Ukraine — something he has voted against repeatedly in the past — and now appears to be in search of the least politically damaging way to do it.

NYT

So what is it?

It’s easy to spout an opinion when you aren’t responsible for any outcomes. Leadership requires compromise…and with a narrow majority requires more compromise.

I don't know if he's been compromised or if his position dictates that he compromises. We need grenade throwers like Gaetz but if we have 435 grenade throwers then they never accomplish something so simple as a budget.

I know one person who went to DC as a congress critter having never held any political office whatsoever. Whatever they call the "welcome week", when everybody returns and all the newbies show up for the first time, is a 24/7 parade of parties with supermodels to choose from and any substance you want to ingest. I suspect the dumber ones get put in someone's little black book that first week. There are people who stay clean, like my friend, but they rarely last, and you probably never see their names in the news because they're probably sidelined and ostracized.

The part about the parties is straight from the horse's mouth, the rest is my conjecture.

Nothing.

He just realized he has no power and a shut down would be bad for himself and the party.

Things don't always have to be overly complicated or a conspiracy.

Cool. Then don't pretend to be a man of God, and then prove yourself to be a fricking liar.

I said this was coming the day he gave his swampy acceptance speech.

I got roasted on here, but it was obvious who's team he was on when the first people he thanked were all the swamp dwellers.

In conclusion, he was already compromised.

30 pieces of silver. He probably was promised more of a kick back from any dollars going to Ukraine.

Well it’s easy to just be a sky screamer

It’s different to be a leader

Who knows though. As speaker you also get access to intelligence you wouldn’t otherwise have access to as a rank and file member of the house

And ask this guy...

Out of nowhere suddenly they will claim a book has classified info shared with the side POA, if you don't play with them...

Or at anytime they can plant kiddie porn on your laptop, and or watch what pornhub vids are watched.

The way to combat this is get the Turtles out and revamp the chamber of commerce, GangOf8 , DOJ NSD, FBI...

Words of someone with the luxury of seeing the world in black and white.

It’s easy to scream and shout about what’s broke. What do you people want Johnson to do with a one vote majority? Have a shutdown and piss away any hope of gains in November?

10 or so of the majority are grenade throwing children who are having their moment in the sun…when the R’s get a better majority or lose the majority the children go back into the position of irrelevance where they belong.

THIS. I am pissed at Mike Johnson for not shutting down the government, but his majority includes several cuck RINOs that were probably telling him they would vote with the Democrats to get it passed.

He has a very narrow majority, and is trying his best to navigate that.
