I don't have a party and you don't know who I've voted for or supported.

I don't think people understand this.

Congressmen, until they're in the rarefied atmosphere (to quote Layer Cake), spend most of their time fundraising (for themselves and the party).

You don't just get to show up and do your own thing.

We should probably at least double the number of House members (while correspondingly halving their current salaries/office budgets).

Although, I've seen people make somewhat convincing arguments that we should go all the way back to the original representation numbers as set forth in the Constitution (1 per 30,000 people), which would give us like 11,000 House members.

With what we have now, they really aren't close to being the type of "Representatives" as originally envisioned.

This is a fair criticism of the right, but I'm not sure there isn't a fundamental structural advantage that just can't be overcome. Government programs are 10 times harder to get rid of than they are to start. All the left has to do is keep clicking the ratchet and take baby steps that are close to impossible to reverse, and they have the advantage of selling populist bullshite that will ensure their grip on power.

That doesn't mean the right doesn't shite the bed and blame it on the dog, because they do, but the nature of the game puts them in constant defense. I don't think we'll ever see the federal government shrink, it'll just grow until we reach a crisis.

but his majority includes several cuck RINOs that were probably telling him they would vote with the Democrats to get it passed.

Then he should have forced the cucks onto the record with their vote that confirmed their support of the leftists.

Youre getting it.

The most colossal failure in leadership in decades.

If you think I'm a Trump supporter, then you are sorely mistaken. I may end up voting for him, but will probably vote third party.

The "colossal failure in leadership" is in both major parties across generations.

Please share the perfect candidate that you plan on voting for. I would love to vote for the unicorn.

and with a narrow majority requires more compromise.

Compromise ~totally do what you said you wouldn't do. Pass nonsensical budgets, pass CRs, fund foreign wars we aren't involved in, foreign aid money we don't have when SS money isn't resolved, ignore the American people's hardship until they finally have to come to the welfare scrap table, do nothing on the border crisis, don't fund the border wall, don't impeach those that actually need to be impeached because we suddenly need to "rise above", do anything else the democrats want so they'll vote to keep me installed.

Sound about right? Mike Johnson is capitulating to the democrats so that the republicans can't oust him. That makes him lead democrat with zero accountability to republicans. This was beyond what I thought the republican leadership would look like. I figured they would get nothing done and just sit lame. They are pretty much democrats. I'm amazed.

How do we know? We dont give them a chance. They keep voting for the people who failed them last time.

Not even vote for, they still deify the guy and still cant understand how we got in this deep of debt.

Trump will get elected, jack shite will get accomplished, and tMinions will continue to blame everyone but themselves.

It’s simple. The GOPe said they would give the House to the Dems if he didn’t pass the spending they wanted.

They might still do it to get rid of Trump.

New blood.

Do you think voting for the guy who added 8 trillion to the debt is "change?"

Its not.

Then he should publicly say that. Or at least say he doesn't support it, but is voting for it for the good of the country.

He is giddily supporting it and proclaiming his die-hard pro-Ukraine funding beliefs.
