Jesus, do you know how cancer works? you don't have symptoms at times until it is too late.

I told my Grandma recently that I think the Conservative Movement of the last election doesn’t happen if he’s still around. We needed more voices on microphones, and he may have been drowning everyone out.
That said, whatever wonder drug they put him on needs to be known, because I swear he had one month and it gave him a full year.

Hard to believe it happened from zero to that in a few months. There had to be something g growing long before the end.

I had a full Physical in early 2005, and nothing showed anything out of the normal. less than 9 month later i had Stage 2 testicular cancer (already spread to lymph nodes)
So what led you to the discovery that something was wonky with your balls?
Were you checking them out regularly and suddenly noticed an irregularity 9 months later? Or was it something else?

He was a longtime heavy smoker. Even when he gave up cigs, he was still famously smoking stogies. It was probably a bit of hubris
As much as I loved Rush and miss him today, he really believed for a long time cigarettes didn’t cause cancer. I think he started to back away from that position the last 10 years or so. Having family members who live to be quite old can lead to a false sense of health too.

He was good about his testing and appointments.
Said they found something with my colonoscopy, so I have a follow-up.
Next weekend had some vision issues and some dizziness.
Followed up within a week…bam.

I don't think it works like that.

The same way the singer for 3 Doors Down allowed it to sneak up on him?
In all seriousness, people blow off their health all the time because it doesn’t seem like a big deal. When you have a cough or you’re fatigued you don’t automatically think it’s cancer. More often than not when it becomes impossible to ignore is typically when it’s too late

No one could entertain like Rush and I can't think of any who have his sense of humor....maybe Michael Berry. Some of his radio "cartoons" were genius as were some of his commercial spoofs that he did independently of Paul Shanklin.

My at the time 2 year old jumped on me and hit the nut....excruciating pain....noticed it was then swollen and hard. scheduled an appointment with a urologist a week later when the swelling did not go down. they did ultrasound that day, and surgery to remove the next..... started chemo a month later.
No i go every year for my physical and they now check for two cancer marker hormones to see if it has come back....

My dad died of cancer 28 days after being diagnosed.
I asked the Dr how this can happen, his response was "It's a silent killer, by the time you have symptoms it's advanced".

I don't even listen to his time slot anymore.

Correct, unfortunately there is a lot of ignorance in this thread about cancer and its symptoms/causes. People are often under the illusion that they would know if they have it because they “know” their body and exercise regularly. It’s nonsense. If you live long enough, nearly every adult male will develop prostate cancer. If you spend time in the sun regularly without wearing sunscreen and reapplying it as directed, there is a really good chance you will develop a form of skin cancer if you live long enough. Some of it is avoidable by not using tobacco or eating a high sugar diet but there is no way to truly prevent cancer, unfortunately it is just a fact of life.

Supposedly, the Galleri test is a good and developing blood test to check for cancer.

How did you let stupidity sneak up on you?

Thanks. I’ll have to start fondling my balls more aggressively in the shower.
I could probably lose a ball and wouldn’t miss it, but frick chemo.

My dad was an old country guy and was having back pain, he didn’t run to the Dr with it.

Michael Berry would be better than Clay and Buck.
