I'm not under the impression, it's just facts.

Well, Rush died of lung cancer, which in the vast majority of cases is directly linked to smoking.

Obesity, smoking, and alcohol abuse increase the risk of contracting a wide array of cancers.

Michael Knowles is usually a good daily listen, he has some of the analysis abilities of Rush. Charlie Kirk is usually pretty good. Megyn Kelly surprisingly can be good. It’s kinda hit or miss, sometimes they are talking Hollywood bs. Tim pool is always a good fallback.

I use the apple podcast app, you can blue tooth it in the car or wireless headphones at the gym

Well aren’t you just a spiteful soul?

Unlike you evidently are towards some, I wish you continued long and good health and perhaps an opportunity on some self reflection someday.

My aunt just died of Pancreatic Cancer which is known as the silent killer. No noticeable symptoms and by the time they catch it usually it is too late.

Genetics matter, but they have been overstated relative to lifestyle effects. Rush abused his body for years, making it much more likely he would have cancer at some point.

I have a friend in his mid forties with S4 prostate cancer. He had no symptoms. It was detected in routine bloodwork.

I am not going to bother reading it boy wonder. I work in the cancer unit quite frequently and it is full of patients who thought they were healthy. There are millions of skinny “fat” people who have fatty livers without excess weight. Which greatly increases your risks for liver cancer which is almost always fatal. Stomach cancer and bowel cancer rates have increased quite dramatically in young adults and many aren’t overweight. You keep believing being overweight. Weight is a minute to irrelevant factor in developing prostate, skin, sarcoma, myeloma, as well as breast and most thoracic cancers. You don’t know what you are talking about

Rush smoked cigarettes starting as a young disc jockey. It was touted as a way to add timbre to your voice. The tar gradually coats your vocal chords. Everyone did it. I was the only non smoker at my radio station in the 60s. Once he became successful enough to make it in broadcasting he was addicted and could not quit.

He was a longtime heavy smoker. Even when he gave up cigs, he was still famously smoking stogies. It was probably a bit of hubris - his grandfather lived to be 105 (and was in the active practice of law at 102). He has (right now) a living uncle who is 97 or 98.

He probably thought he had more time. The graveyards are full of people who thought they had one more day.

I don't understand people who are health fanatics who think they are entitled to longer lifespans. Athletes die young too. When it's your time, it's you time. It's not like old people are the only ones dying in car crashes, plane crashes, murders, drownings, and even heart attacks.

At least Rush made an impact with the time he was given.

Never claimed they don’t nor did I claim most cancers are genetic, I am replying to a specific poster who is under the impression that weight is a determining factor in most cancers. It isn’t

Have rapid onset of late stage cancers increased in recent years? Sure seems so.

Like most people who profusely partake in things that everyone knows will kill them…..
He likely didn’t care. My grandfather was in hospice and still sneaking cigarettes.

That being said…. I miss Rush.
