Hong Kong is Done, its Over

Hong Kong (CNN)China's legislature has approved a proposal to impose a highly contentious national security law in Hong Kong, in an unprecedented move that critics say threatens fundamental political freedoms and civil liberties in the semi-autonomous territory.
The country's rubber-stamp parliament, the National People's Congress (NPC), nearly unanimously approved the resolution Thursday to introduce the sweeping security legislation, which bans secession, subversion of state power, terrorism, foreign intervention and allows mainland China's state security agencies to operate in the city.
Only one delegate voted against the proposal, while 2,878 voted for and six abstained.
Now approved, the NPC's standing committee will draft the law -- a process that is expected to take about two months. It will then be implemented upon promulgation by the Hong Kong government, bypassing the city's legislature via a rarely-enacted constitutional backdoor.

Waiting to see what the response is from the international community. The talk is, Japan, Australia, EU are waiting for the US to make their move and they will follow

Australia, EU
Woof. That is highly unlikely given their commodity exports to China. Would be awesome but money is now important to those governments. Same with the EU. Germany's too dependent. Slap on the wrist is the most likely situation. Even if the US completely drives out the CCP shell companies from our exchanges and comes down with harsh sanctions, those countries will welcome business with open arms.

Well, it’s time to start transitioning international banking and finance out of Hong Kong. Basically start winding Hong Kong down as if it is absolutely China and move operations to other locations where human rights are more tolerable. Singapore, Tokyo, Seoul, Jakarta, Mumbai, etc.

Australia is already facing 80% tariffs for daring to question China’s story on KungFlu.
The plus side to already getting fricked by a country economically is that it cuts the potential losses by any further action.

Talk is the only thing that will happen. This has always been a foregone conclusion. Hongkongers who value liberty need to GTFO while it’s still possible.

China is preparing to attack the US and anyone that can’t see that is an idiot! Hong Kong just picked a side. The people here need to arm themselves and prepare for war here at home because it’s coming!
They've already won the war. Wasn't a shot fired.
Read The 100 Yr. Marathon.
They bought our government, media, and educational systems off. They didn't have to fight us.
And we all went with it in the name of cheap shite. Now we won't do a thing to fix it because we are so damn normalized, we'll just let things continue as always instead of fighting.
China made it to where we have to fight ourselves.

That one voter is done.
HK didn’t pick a side. They basically got a gun pointed to their head and told they are becoming more incorporated into China.
I think they are fricked and no response will fix that but it means that HK doesn’t really need to be taken into consideration with regards to our responses
By China doing this, they have basically said “We won’t honor treaties”, so frick them.
