Our hands aren't clean, go watch the typical youtube video on Africa, etc. and look at the comments. US gov't war dealing has soured many folks on this country. Sad to think we used be very popular in the middle east not too long ago.

Pretty sure capital flight was increasing back in 2018 because if the inevitability of this happening.

I've said the same thing. We also need to give a fair option to Africa.

I fear what that country is about to do to Africa as a whole. Tens of millions of Africans are going to die over this, since China has been counting on something like this happening for decades
You've mentioned this before relating to Africa, and I do not quite follow. Mind expounding a little on what the Chinese goal is in Africa beyond buying fealty? What is it that the Chinese are counting on happening and what is their play when it does? At face value, it seems like doing anything detrimental in Africa to the tune of millions of deaths would undermine the last three decades of money and work Beijing has put in there.

The UK should be the ones leading the charge. Hong Kong used to be theirs.

UK is flabby and sick. I'm of the mind that lease deal was with the emperor not the communist party.

Dude, what we've done to Africa is nothing in comparison for what China has done and what they plan to do to Africa. They've always known that our tolerance for their bullshite was finite. Our government can only think 4 years in advance max. Their government thinks 40 years into the future. They knew we would eventually wise up and start treating them as the threat they actually are. They've been building so much shite in Africa in preparation for this moment. The Africans are about so fricked you have no idea. They're about to steal all their shite once the sanctions come. Millions are going to starve because of this.

The thing about India is they're huge allies with Russia.

China needs access to resources in order to support a population of over 1 billion as they become more advanced.
Africa has a ton of natural resources that the people there can’t or won’t access.
China effectively bought up a bunch of governments down there for the purposes of strip mining the countries of all resources.

So does this mean China's proclaimed desire to be the world's greatest superpower wasn't just bluster?
Every American who still believes this country was a miraculous gift from God Almighty should be demanding accountability from our DC Brothel politicians and their corporate partners in the selling out of America to the Communist Chinese. Even if you don't believe America has Devine origins but you believe the Founders were good and decent men who put together a template for the greatest success any country could ever hope for, you too should be angry. Many of the same politicians who allowed all of the offshoring of American industrial and manufacturing might to China are still swimming in the Swamp and now they're playing us all for fools as they pretend the Chinese duped us all. Naw, that ain't what happened, many of us regular working folk at street level knew where this shite was going to end and here we are. Don't be deceived.

They had their chance to go to the mat for Hong Kong Independence in the early 1970's when PRChina was still weak and chose not to. By the time they eventually handed the city over, the UK was no longer capable of doing so and that has not changed.
If push came to shove, the British cannot do anything militarily from a force projection perspective beyond providing support for American and French forces.

This is the truth, sadly. Now is the time for Argentina to go after "their" islands again. Great Britain will do nothing this time around.

China will bury itself if it tries any reprehensible behavior in Africa. They see Africa as their China (manufacturing outsourcing etc.) hence the move. China will become old before they become rich thanks to the one child policy.
You must've forgot America selling arms to various governments and our business in Congo.

I understand all of that. Africa's resources are no secret and the exploitation thereof is not new, even if the Chinese have ratcheted up the scale. I am wondering where the tens of millions of African deaths, and how or why Beijing thinks that would be to its benefit.

Argentina is even worse off.

Reminds me of one of the Eastern European satellite nations after WWII.
A high ranking official wanted to take up the US offer of funds via the Marshall Plan. IIRC, he committed suicide via jumping out a window shortly afterward. This was likely a Czech or Pole given both had shown interest in participating before their Soviet overlords said no.

What China has been doing is buying masses and masses of land in Africa for farming and been greatly improving their infrastructure at small costs to these countries. The overall goal is to prevent another Great Leap Forward. The only reason the Chinese before now have been able to prevent this is globalism. That's coming to an end this year. China can not support itself on it's own, so they're about to start knocking on all these African countries doors with the bill, and that bill is going to be catastrophic for them. Nigeria is already really shaking in their boots over this knowing what is about to happen, but here's what China says to them:
