You can get one off Amazon for $15. My local Walmart has a Sony AM/FM radio for $22 in stock.
Besides, who wants to drive around listening to AM radio in muffled mono sound when it's simulcast to an FM station or streaming online?

It still is a raw deal, however. How will I listen to LSU sporting events broadcasts now that WWL 870, KWKH 1130, KJBO 1150, etc. are no longer an option? That's torture, not politics.

Exactly. It's the free market dictating weather or not car manufacturers should even include an AM radio. Emergency AM broadcasts will still be around, and transistor radios are cheap as hell. For crying out loud you can make one yourself if you're brave enough.
