quote:Of all the things to cut in a car, the $4 AM radio is the one to go? Keep in mind that these stupid kids buying them are the same ones who live in the South and spring for the undercarriage treatment to protect against snow.
With the prevalence of satellite radio and the number of talk stations on FM radio, is it really that big of a deal?

A lot of new cars don't have CD players.

Not a boomer here, and I demand one. Does it make up for your tiny penis to make fun of those who've lived longer than you ever will?
Judging by your insult, you’re not old enough to buy a car. Maybe your boomer dad will get you one when you move out of his basement

And hell, I catch FM radio on the weekends, but the mix stations, about 1/3 of each is garbage, and another 1/3 is cheese (they really love Alannis Morissette).

Your pee-pee is small and you're probably going to die before you hit 50.

How dare you! My penis is almost average, I'll have you know!

This shouldn’t be a bid deal because I can’t imagine anyone was listening to AM radio in their cars anyway and you can get a phone app nowadays to play AM radio.

Really? No one?

It's EV if I remember correctly. The engine interferes with AM reception.

That $4 part costs money to engineer to work with all the other electronics, create tools to make the thing, then manufacture it. Omitting an option that has barely any demand thanks to the invisible hand of the free market, would save a company millions of dollars. Same reason why CD players aren't found in many cars when people went to MP3 players and later smartphones to play music from.
Sorry you're not smart enough to figure out how to stream something to your vehicle or that you can just buy portable radio for emergencies.
Sounds to me you just don't to be inconvenienced and can't be bothered to actually think. Sad.

Glenn Beck with the reminder that all new cars are being made without AM radio

Do you dispute manufacturers are eliminating AM radio in the future?

There are lots of reasons that's a bad idea. Sad that you think you have all the answers. Bet you felt like a boss in college when you though you was a high roller because you had enough money to Super-Size your McDonald's combo to share with your date (of course, her half was put into a little bowl with her name on the side on the floor).
Reasons NOT to use your phone:
Maybe you have friends and want to talk to them (you can't relate to this).
Maybe you have a limited data plan (you CAN relate to this).
Harder to control - more distracted driving.
Loses connection and needs to be adjusted - more distracted driving.
Reasons NOT to use a portable radio:
Takes up space. Put it on the floor? Passenger seat? Back seat?
Harder to control - more distracted driving.
Hot summer sun isn't good for electronics or their batteries.
Keeping it charged.
But yeah, keep saying "mUh MaGiCaL mArKeT".
