All new cars don't come with a tape deck or an 8-track... what is your point? Also, my 2021 car has AM radio.

The market and demand changes - that's capitalism, baby.

Were you able to listen to radio on your 8-track?

Cars have evolved. AM doesn't seem to be a highly listened to option, plus all those talking heads probably have their own digital streaming option. Do you ~only~ listen to AM radio?

You can listen to whatever you want to via your phone and bluetooth.

Dropping 8 tracks was the beginning of the fall of modern society

8 track + Chevy van + shag carpet = maximum lovin!

Sammy Kershaw from a better time and place.

Yea when i was buying my audi last year, i was like "does it have an am radio, if not i'm walking"

So they put a custom boombox under the seat for me.

Pretty easy to listen to anything you want on your phone using today's space aged technology.

I’m saying your comparison wasn’t apples to oranges.
The 8-track was upgraded for sound clarity, but it didn’t change the content.
Removing an AM radio will remove conservative content.

Easy, not better

8-tracks and LP's have far richer sound quality than modern recordings and modern technology do not reproduce the sound quality of older recordings. I have an old reel to reel and old speakers and nothing modern can match them.

If you can't afford a smartphone to stream this stuff, you can't afford a new car either.

This post is tarded.

You can literally listen to any kind of conservative content you want on your phone... that you can connect to your car... via Bluetooth or USB or whatever.

What I meant was, HOW we listen to content has evolved. That same AM content is probably readily available on your phone.

If they can't afford a new car, then they probably still have AM, which makes this post dumb.

not just that, it’ll remove content for a lot of small rural towns.

EV cars are leading this, claiming electromagnetic interference

You are right, I can’t afford a new car. Many people buying them can’t either.

I don't agree that auto manufacturers have any desire to silence Conservative Talk Radio. They are just trying to save some money to keep the prices of their cars low enough to afford. Every year, the amount of time spent listening to AM stations drops. Levin and Hannity are simply taking a problem totally unrelated to politics and making it into a left-vs.-right issue.
