With enough ammo and land you can eat indefinitely. I need to get off my arse and build a smokehouse at my off grid location. Have cisterns and rabbits there already so keeping them fed and bred will be a steady meat supply just preservation will be key. Funny how we need to prep now to get back to our ancestral way of life.

We keep 1 month in reserve. Have been practicing gardening for a few seasons. It really does take time to get good.

Yes and probably more than a planted acre to actually feed a family for a year and not just make a couple seasonal meals. People vastly underestimate the size garden needed to make canned goods to last a year

Canned goods .. canned goods and more canned goods.
Several bags dried beans. Freezer full of pork, chicken.
Enough stored to last thru summer, but beyond that, I am
up a creek without a paddle

I’m finding the better I’m getting, the more dense I can plant.

But yeah, a backyard is not close to enough.

Totally feel under prepared.

We moved in August, and I've been dealing with hip problems ever since. I'm having a hip replacement on Monday. Need to get that over with.

My brother has a ranch with lots of deer. I figure in a pinch we'll get deer from him.

We are also in Bentonville, and I don't think Walmart will help keep our stores stocked up. I'm just worried about costs going sky high.

I think after my surgery, we will stock up.

Going to be an interesting few years! Ugh!

I’m only lacking in dry goods like salt, sugar, and flour.

I need to put more meat in my freezer but as long as it’s still walking around out in the woods I guess I’ll store it there until I need it

Should have gone with a bigger garden but my blueberry bushes are full.
