Everyone who thinks they’ll just shoot deer are being shortsighted. Do the math. There are what, about 30 million whitetail deer in the US and 350 million people? If 10% of the population kills 1 deer within 1 month we are screwed. Then the pressure starts on other animals. That’s why game populations were so low years ago. Populations weren’t managed and commercial meat production wasn’t in place like it is today.

I agree. It’s comforting to think that you’ll be ok living off the land. And you might be temporarily. But as soon as the cities start running out of food and the government can no longer feed them, you’re most likely done. It would be like fighting a plague of locusts with a tree branch.

Had 4 deer in my backyard this morning. Would have popped one of my freezers weren’t so full.

My husband wants us to move to the middle of nowhere in case SHTF. We are both on daily meds. We are screwed if SHTF.

My sweet daughter's seizures came back. I think she'll be screwed too if she can't get meds.

I think my son would kill himself if his sister or I die.

That leaves 1 kid, and she just got engaged. Don't know how they will do

Biden will confiscate and redistribute to more deserving folks like the immigrants at the border.

I hope not in a freezer. With energy prices, something tells me blackouts aren't out of the realm of possibility.

I swear ever since the pandemic began, pasta has been in short supply at my local HEB. The pasta isle was always full of different brands and varieties. But it never seemed to recover like other items did. It has sat 3/4 empty since March 2020.

But at least the mean tweets are gone. ????

If your freezer is full of meat you should be canning it.

That’s why everyone should own a generator. You don’t have to run it long to keep a freezer frozen.

They keep foods like rice and beans good forever. Air is the enemy of stored food.
It’s a very inexpensive way to put up quite a bit of food for cheap.
We did 9 buckets of rice, pintos, pasta noodles, potatoe flakes etc for $188. Rough calculation is food for 2 for 4-6 months. Might not be the best tasting but it will keep you alive. Plus it’s really filler to add to other things like canned goods to stretch stuff.

My plans are to stay OT rich and keep ordering grub hub and Waitr to the very end.

But seriously, stock up a little over time on essentials and long shelf life items to ride it out. After that I’m going after the squirrels that won’t stop chewing their way into my attic. Worst case retreat to where I have some land to grow some food, hunt, and fish. If you live in the south, you will be hard pressed to starve to death.

Ravioli. If I lived on it from age 15 to 21, I can do it again.

but if the shite really hits the fan, how long do you think you’re going to be able to hunt your land successfully?

Estimates say that if normal (grocery) food supply is gone, that wildlife in the US will be gone in six (6) weeks due to the hungry hunting/slaughtering.
