Acreage in MS has all the wildlife I'd need to survive.

As it stands, I would agree. If there is a beef shortage in the future though, lots of poaching and night hunting can deplete a deer herd in short order.

Anyone counting on hunting for getting protein or even fishing… if shite hits the fan really everything will be over hunted and fished in the first 2 weeks.

I have a place that is extremely remote. Like 200 people living within 8 miles. If we go into a lawless SHTF place... I plan to put a poachers head on each T post around the property. I assume that will deter all but the most hardy.

And to all the people with food in freezers you need to can your meats instead. If the SHTF or you lose power all your food with be worthless.

Alot of my stored meats are canned (but I do have some in freezer just not a lot).

I also have alot of rice and pasta in mylar. A large garden as well. Gardening is not something you can do successfully right off the bat, there is a learning curve. As is learning to can food. Both are necessary.

Another way I use meats and stuff from the garden is this recipe.

The biggest issue people will have is clean water. If the SHTF many people will die from dysentery and cholera from drinking from local water sources. Boiling will work for that but many wont know to do it until they are too sick for it to matter.

How will you determine if someone is poaching?

Well water would be the best option but boiling has been used for centuries.

It will depend on which side of the fence they are on.

Greenhouse
Raised Garden Beds
Conventional Garden
Canning Food
Hunt

People are too used to going to the store for everything to "survive".

I have so many vegetables I give them away. I also trade a neighbor down the street for goat milk and fresh laid eggs.
