You don’t go from one hanging chad to a solid red state in 20 years. Especially with liberal snowbirds moving there in hordes.
Some of the polls and surveys on the snowbirds show that many of those fleeing the the NE and Cal are more on the conservative side of the political spectrum leaving a more monolithic pile of leftists in the "blue" states.
There is some serious stratification going on.

The florida senate was 25/40 red after 98... my first election. Today we're at 28/40. We saw 28 in 2010, and it slowly drifted down to 23 in 2018.

Property taxes never made sense to me. It almost feels like you don’t even own your property when you pay it off because you got to pay tax on it yearly.

Florida got more red during Covid.
Yankee conservatives escaped oppressive rules.
I like this property tax thing. It’s going to help me big time.

by 1796 15 of the 16 states had a property tax the concept of taxing property goes back 6000 years.
here's what has actually changed the entitled middle class no longer pay's income tax, now they don't want to pay property taxes. here's the good news since gen z and millennials will never own homes they'll never have to worry about paying property taxes.

I wish hot wheels here in Texas would follow the DeSantis playbook.
And I wish our lesbian, Granny Clampett would do the same.
