So from what I’m reading this is what the actual proposal looks like:
-NOT an elimination of property taxes
-step through increases for homestead exempt properties
-$150k exemption Y1, $250k Y2
-school taxes are NOT eliminated from bill
-the trust that was proposed to help smaller counties cover the changes was eliminated in committee
So the $500k exemption DeSantis wanted is gone and the state refused to fund the rural county trust id mentioned previously so those counties will in fact get hit hard by this because most of their tax base is tax exempt, but the school funding won’t be impacted.
