Why’d he agree to show up to answer questions if there was no legal ramifications for not showing up or answering questions? Why did he say prior he wasn’t afraid to answer questions?

I have read that if you accept a presidential pardon you basically forfeit your Fifth Amendment rights. Fauci accepted the pardon, therefore he was in contempt and should be charged and prosecuted as such. According to Gemini, this is based on a 1915 Court ruling.
