Ok that’s fine and all but Helen was sired by a Greek god that assumed the form of a bird. Helen was hatched out of an egg and we’re still very concerned about that skin color.

She’s the daughter of Zeus who had changed form into a swan for the sex act and now we’re really concerned about the color of her skin.
I see this shitlib talking point has been making the rounds.
Well, now you have to explain why a decade-long war was fought because of her beauty.
If Nolan wants to cast a black actress in a role, he needs to write the story himself. He's adapting one of the most famous literary works of all time. What he's done here is an insult to Homer and Western civilization.
Why would I believe a demigod so beautiful that she started a war looks eerily similar to a woman I saw throw out a used diaper in a Walmart parking lot a few weeks ago?

Ancient Greek poets: Helen of Troy is known for having beautiful, well-groomed golden-yellow hair.

Hollywood, a part of the corrupt Political Establishment, wants to cancel white people (other than bots like Damon and Hathaway).
My prediction? It is Hollywood that will ultimately be canceled. They're struggling right now as it is.
Oh, and once again, I'm happy to say that I don't support Hollywood in any way, shape, or form. They have received NONE of my money for several years now.

The thing that is happening isn’t happening.
Once that fails…
The thing that’s happening isn’t a big deal.

edit: or will be made? I guess it hasn't been shot yet.
Typically well-informed take from you.

What is “Western European” in all of that?
Do you really want to be the guy who pretends to not know he was talking about Western Civilization, which started with the Ancient Greeks?

Sounds like Elon is trying to avoid the fact that he was begging to go to rape island by stoking white rage over a black woman in a movie.
Speaking of mythology.

3. Remake WW2 movies but with black people as Nazis.

1. Recreate any pre-civil war movie with white people cast as slaves.
2. Remake the Wakanda/Black Panther stuff but with just white people.

Those are just a few, but they all make about as much sense as everything else these days.
The Ten Commandments with Ken Jeong as Moses.

Jamie Foxx as Hitler.
Hell, he played POTUS. Why not?

What is there to be informed about? Elon Musk disapproves of the actress cast for a part in a movie. What kind of analysis is warranted?

This is the thing about the blackwashing of practically every Hollywood production that baffles me:
In doing so, they're telling the populace (of whom their potential audience is a component) that they are so devoid of original stories that they must shoehorn established stories and mythology with DEI nonsense despite there being no audience appetite for it.
They're effectively saying that there are NO ORIGINAL STORIES in pan-African culture worth telling. No Zulu kings or folk tales/myths that would translate into movies worth a damned to get audience members to part with their hard-earned dollars to go see. As a result, they have to blackwash known stories from western culture and erase the white characters.
I find that hard to believe. Even on a mathematical basis, it seems difficult to make that case.

I think Lupita is a good-looking chick and a decent actress. There's no way she should have been cast as Helen of Troy.

This is just all around a horrible choice. I could see casting an olive skinned dark haired Helen if you wanted to go away from the traditional casting for Helen, but someone whose parents are from sub-Saharan Kenya?
Even Google Gemini agrees when asked how many people from sub-Saharan Africa would have lived in Sparta during the time of the Trojan War?
In terms of a hard number, the answer is likely zero to a handful of individuals. There is no historical or archaeological evidence of a settled sub-Saharan population in the Peloponnese during this era.
If any sub-Saharan Africans were in Sparta at the time, they would have been outliers—perhaps high-ranking envoys, specialized mercenaries, or victims of the Mediterranean slave trade—rather than a demographic group.
It's like casting a black woman as Anne Boleyn...oh wait nevermind.

quote:That's actually false. Even before Rome unified the peninsula to form an empire it was generally the same as today with Celts/Ligurians in the North, Greeks in the South and Italic tribes throughout and between. Invaders were strong but small and left a negligible impact. You'll see the same in Spain.
Southern Europeans weren't always swarthy. Ancient Greeks & Romans were fair with features that we now associate with only northern Europeans.
