quote:So does Trump. Well, he leads Congress to spending just like the democrats.
I correctly stated that recently he votes with Dems when it counts.

He is just another run of the mill TDS infested loser
quote:You should LINK
I don’t recall calling you liberal. If I did I apologize.
quote:Like this?
a man that votes with liberals when it counts
quote:You're mad about an irrelevant vote. I'm mad at policies actually implemented (with the GOPE's help, of course). We are not the same.
On "The Daily Show" Monday night, the liberal comic told self-described democratic socialist Bernie Sanders that Trump is carrying out the Vermont senator's "revolution."
"You could almost make a case that the true inheritor of the Sanders revolution is Trump," Stewart said.
"He is the most socialist president of my lifetime."
"Taking a percentage of companies to do business? That's a Bernie Sanders idea. Doing TrumpRx where the government is involved in selling pharmaceuticals? That's a Bernie Sanders idea."
Then Stewart doubled down.
"Is it frustrating that the thing that you fought for your whole career, Democrats are the ones who run away from scared and Trump has embraced some of it?" he asked.
quote:I like a lot of what Trump has done too. Like you I don't like the spending. So, I have no need to constantly criticize Massie for voting against Trump's spending. I actually appreciate him for voting against Trump (or anyone else's) spending. For some reason a minor procedural vote that had no bearing on a debt ceiling bill's passage, eats at you, and sparks a need to tear down Massie--to the point of mischaracterizing his record, comparing him to a democrat, etc. Yo've let yourself get lathered up into opposing a guy who voted against spending you claim not to like. You should dig in to why you feel that need to do that. Didn't you say the other day you were against purity tests?
I like a ton of what Trump has done. I don’t like his spending. To any rational non-cult member that should make sense.
quote:No. I don't care about mud-slinging campaign ads. And contrary to your accusations of being "cult-like" -- I feel no need to defend Massie, except for obvious exaggerations and lies about his voting record that some are howling about.
You don’t care Massie said he would sell his vote for praise.
quote:Yeah. All votes are the same importance in Congress.
That’s how you gloss over his spending votes (yes plural). They were procedural? News flash….all votes are procedural.
quote:It absolutely is, because it's an attemp to grab the moral high ground, where none exists. And that's the ultimate problem with being a Trump supporter. Because Trump has no ideology other than 'what's good for Trump' (even including supporting Bernie Sanders, Paul Krugman, and Liz Warren's poliices)... You're forced into making enemies out of allies that agree with you on damn near everything. Even if you have to resort to dragging up "hypcricy!!" rather than arguing the merits of policy, the actual voting history, or post history of your newly formulated "enemies".
Me being disappointed in your lack of consistency and principles isn’t a personal attack
I get it. Made the same mistake and caught myself doing it.Took a step back and saw the mental pretzel logic path defending Trump was leading me down. I was actually starting to defend a mega-spending, swamp-backing, for sale politician. I mean, surely, you've noticed a change in my tone toward Trump?

quote:Nope. It's odd that you criticize me for not defending Massie after you said I was a cult follower of him.
But I do think it is VERY telling that every single Massie fan boy here has completely ignored his quid pro quo proposal. TA said he doesn’t care. Big admission.

Wait … this broad assured me that Republicans were not going anywhere in the midterms and that the polls were full of shite. Now you’re telling me that the GOP is intentionally throwing the midterms??
I guess the moral of the story is that no matter what happens it’s not Trump’s fault.

Even if Dems take majority it won’t matter. As long as Trump does what Israel wants, he’ll never be removed from office.

What are your thoughts on his quid pro quo?

Elon just now catching on to the playbook I’ve witnessed my entire life of 40+ years?
Ok, maybe he’s not THAT smart….

Unipar...I mean "principled republicans" won't stop until MAGA is eradicated.

I don't believe Republican congresscritters particularly WANT Trump removed from office, but I do believe they absolutely do prefer being in the minority and have no problem grid locking Congress with endless impeachments in the house.
It's much, much easier to be the minority than to lead with a majority.

Elon isn’t wrong (and as always, the Bee is over target).
A sizable portion of the GOP has no genuine interest in actually leading this country into the future.
They’d just as soon keep a seat at the table as a toothless loyal opposition to the Dems, continue to personally profit at the DC trough and then make the rounds on Fox News acting indignant and complaining about it all while putting in a plug to the website where viewers can go to support their re-election campaign.
Entire federal government is one big scamming insider’s club and the joke is ultimately on we regular American citizens.

The pendulum swing is by design.

Wrong. I criticized you for ignoring his statement all together.

First, believe it or not I don't dive into evrey thread on this board. Second, re-word, and parse it however you like, as I said:
quote:
So if I defend him, I'm a cult member. If I don't defend him, I'm a cult member. ... you've created the null set of logic:
Why are you desperate for me to defend him?

quote:Literally, Trump too.
Oh my. That’s literally Massie.
quote:In the span of 10 days Trump went from his first term position of trying to outright ban TikTok with an executive order... to opposing the vote in Congress to ban TikTok. (so principled, as you'd say). Yass dumped $16 million into the 2024 election -- had never supported Trump before that.
As Donald Trump reverses his position on potentially banning TikTok ahead of an expected House vote this week on legislation that could lead to it being blocked in the U.S., the former president has been rebuilding his relationship with a GOP megadonor who reportedly has a major financial stake in the popular social media platform.
Trump met with the donor, hedge fund manager Jeff Yass, earlier this month at a Club for Growth donor retreat in Palm Beach, Florida, on March 1.
I'm sure it's just a coincidnce.. Trump just had a revelation about free speech...
