At least two caucuses at the 2020 Democratic National Convention opted to omit "under God" from the Pledge of Allegiance during this week's convention meetings, according to reports.

David Brody at CBN News posted the videos to Twitter, which have been widely shared.

Brody shared video footage of the meeting, captioning it, "NEW! Democrats leave out 'Under God' from the Pledge of Allegiance at the #DemocraticNationalConvention Muslim Caucus meeting this week. Watch delegate AJ Durrani skip it. Featured speakers at this event were @BernieSanders @RashidaTlaib & @TomPerez."

During the meeting, the assembly said, "I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands. One nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

At the LGBTQ caucus, the speaker said, "I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands. One nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

Brody also shared the now viral video, captioning it, "At the #DemocraticNationalConvention, LGBT Caucus purposely leaves out the words 'under God' from the Pledge of Allegiance. Watch. This now makes twice that two key constituencies of the Democratic Party have done this. See my earlier tweet about DNC Muslim Caucus."

As highlighted by the Washington Times, the term "under God" was not officially part of the Pledge of Allegiance until 1954.

The decision to include the verbiage was made official in a bill signed by former President Dwight D. Eisenhower.

At the time, Eisenhower wrote, "From this day forward, the millions of our school children will daily proclaim in every city and town, every village and rural school house, the dedication of our nation and our people to the Almighty ... In this way we are reaffirming the transcendence of religious faith in America's heritage and future; in this way we shall constantly strengthen those spiritual weapons which forever will be our country's most powerful resource, in peace or in war."

Unlike a few years ago, it being virtual means they can’t force a floor vote to make God part of the platform again.

I’m glad they are not hiding it. I hope they keep it up. Show everyone what y’all are all about.

My kids' school here in GA pre-recording a bunch of morning broadcasts last week. They omitted "under God," and all the kids were stumbling around it, and couldn't figure out why. One kid finally noticed it,the teacher said it was an honest mistake... but they didn't re-shoot it. I actually believe it was a mistake, I know the teacher. But they DIDN'T reshoot it. I wonder if parents will notice when they air?

It blows me away how they can go from "America was never great" to saying the pledge and people just accept it

Why are they even saying the pledge in the first place? They don't believe in it, they hate the country. It seems like saying the pledge without "under God" in it is simply a troll move designed to get people upset.

And they are burning our cities because they claim we don’t have justice for all.

Some reportedly prayed. Who are they praying to?

I know several gay Christians. Wonder how they feel about this. And the pledge doesn’t specify which God, so Muslims might not like it either.

The big problem is the biggest church going group in the country is black females. Are dems going to upset that group.

But he is official tonight.

The Democrat Party - the party of heathens. Been saying it for a long time. When your party doesn't denounce the act of aborting just born babies, then heathens is very befitting for them.

It’s not surprising. Marxism replaces God with the government anyway. They are just shedding all pretense of solidarity with those who still acknowledge the one who endowed us with inalienable rights. Without God, our rights are whatever the ones with the biggest sticks say they are.

When we were acting up and hurt ourselves as kids, my old Cajun Maw-Maw liked to tell us "God doesn't punish with a stick". I'm sure it was a loose translation from the coonass.

Per Maw-Maw, these heathens will get theirs.

Oh their will be Justice “some day.” “On that day” is how the Good Book likes to phrase it.
And how shocked they will be when they understand that there is indeed a God who is wholly just.

That is pretty ironic since Christians and Muslims actually believe in the same god.

You can downvote all you want but both Islam and Christianity, just like Judaism, are monotheistic religions tracing their roots back to Abraham
