You sound like a guy I know who quit changing the oil in his truck. In fact he hasn’t changed it for 6 years and has over 300k miles on it. It hasn’t locked up or blown up yet, so obviously oil changes are a scam! Just like dentists!

I'm sure I do.

And yet, when I was going to the dentist I constantly had dental problems. When I quit, they all went away.

And we're 33 years into this experiment.

I'll only live probably another 20-25 years, btw.

Should I go back because Squirrelmeister thinks I should, or should I make decisions based on the last 33 years of personal experience?

Gee, that's a tough one.

And btw—I know from previous interactions that you are not capable of much nuance, but try to focus on this—I never said or implied that dentists are a scam. I'm sure they do some people a lot of good. They just don't appear to do ME a lot of good.

You implied, in a thread about how dental care sucks, how you were mistreated and/or scammed by your dentist into paying for unneeded procedures. Yes, you implied you were scammed.

The latest chapter in the book....health insurance in the US is a semi monopoly of 4 giant companies. They raise prices together so there is no competition.
But the most chocking monopoly so far? Funeral Homes! They may have local names but they are owned by one of 3 companies. In 1980 the average cost of a funeral was $700. Today it's $7,000. There was a priest who made fine wooden coffins for cheap. The Funeral corporations sued him and drove him out of business.

Stop being a slob and take care of your mouth.
I brush my teeth 2 to three times a day go to the dentist every 6 months for cleanings and I'm good to go. Anti soda but drink plenty coffee

My dentist claims only 20% of his office billing goes to salaries. The other 80% goes to office insurance , licensing fees, compliance cost etc.

Sodas and not brushing your teeth don't make them grow crooked.

If you need braces, you need braces.
