My PawPaw used to say “trashy people have trashy ways about them.”

Seems fitting

Not just OJ. Rittenhouse was long. Trayvon Martin/Zimmerman. Or maybe my memory is wrong and they weren't that long.

He is cooked. I fear an appeal will be granted. No way his lawyer was competent. (Probably by design).

Could have a verdict as early as tomorrow.

Yeah, and that’s why defendants usually don’t testify. But if your entire defense rests on “self-defense” it’s a real problem if you don’t get on the stand to tell your story.

They can claim incompetent counsel but, frankly, he didn’t have much to work with given what witnesses they DID put on the stand.

I'm not Texan nor an attorney.. but what I've heard is the two attorneys are very top notch and capable.

There just wasn't much of a defense to be had.

I think Melo's supporters gaslit that family into believing he was righteous and they just arrogantly plowed ahead.

So this guy is gonna be found guilty just in time for the festivities to happen at the White House. This will be blown out of proportion. Mark it down

It's hard to mount a defense against a heart stabbing in broad daylight with multiple witnesses and the kid shouldn't have even HAD a knife.

Should have gone for insanity or mental retardation. Or a plea- but they were too righteous for a plea.

Oh I agree.

But if what JD Miles was putting in quotes are actual quotes by the defense, he asked high school kids questions he didn’t know how they would answer.

Even the jr member of my legal dream team knows to never do that.

I don't think so.

Only people like the Black Panthers or other separatists seem to actually give a damn.

It's too obvious.

Also- Columbia, SC just survived the Chow verdict... that one was much less obvious.

It's fairly standard.

Criminal trials don't typically go on for weeks and weeks. The stupid OJ trial skewed a lot of people's understanding of this.

Im not disagreeing with you, but we had a more recent one.

Derek Chauvin's state trial for the murder of George Floyd lasted three weeks, with witness testimony spanning March 8 to April 20, 2021.

The jury selection alone for OJ took months.

All of their witnesses got obliterated, including one that got impeached (that happens to be an LSU RB commit)

They have no case. Not a single one testified to an element of self defense

He should be getting convicted quite easily, open and shut. But juries are in general retarded

That’s the old Lincoln story.

He represented a guy accused of biting off a guy’s ear. He kept asking questions as to what the witness saw and got nothing. He eventually asked what he did see and the guy said “I saw him spit it out.”

So much for the pre-trial talking heads going on that Anthony is going to take the stand... I guess they bit into the self defense sandwich...
