This is not an executable offense.
Neither is a DWI, but just like him resisting arrest, its a bad decision that puts your life and lives of everyone around you at risk.

He pulled away from the cop who was cuffing him and jumped back into the car. There's only 2 reasons to do that: he was either going for a weapon or was trying to take off and lead cops on a high speed chase. Tragic mistake by the officer, but a mistake that would've never happened if he hadn't made a series of criminal decisions leading up to it.

His past history does not mean he deserved to die but it does show a pattern of behavior. Do black people not notice that nearly every victim in these cases has an extensive history of crime and usually a history of violent crimes? I think most black people do not see this as relevant because they have friends, family members etc with similar histories and do not view it as out of the norm.

The world is a much better place without this thug wannabe in it.

I don't know why people keep repeating the line that he was resisting arrest as if it's some kind of gotcha. Was he an idiot for resisting arrest? Yeah. Does that excuse the officer for killing him by mistake? No.

You're right. His action didn't help the situation. They caused it.

I am anti-abortion and pro death penalty, not pro-life.
You Democrats like to play word games in justifying your stupid stances on things so I say anti-abortion.

I also hate criminals, black, white, hispanic, male or female.

I know you Democrats lack common sense but I will try.

A fetus has done no harm to society while a criminal has.

Do you comprehend it now?

Was it ever officially determined she pulled the wrong firearm?

All these white knighters for this a'hole crack me up. Bottom line here - had he not resisted, he'd be alive today.

These liberal word salads are getting tiring. He was not executed. She executed and action that led to his tragic death, which may or may not have been an accident on her part.

I don't know how you got that from my post but let me attempt to spell out what I believe about this situation:

1) Daunte Wright was 100% in the wrong for trying to run while the cops were in the process of taking him into custody.

2) Officer Potter was 100% grossly negligent when she mistook her Glock for a taser. For that mistake, she should be held criminally liable and charged with manslaughter.

These two things can be true at the exact same time.

K, now what did that lead from? Go bigger. Why did the officer need to escalate the use of force?

The answer is the biggest cause of death against low income blacks in this country.

Hmmmmm

Now, was his father around?

Statistics show, kids without fathers, especially in the black community have a higher chance to...
1. Drop out of school
2. Involved in gangs
3. Drug use
4. Have a child out of wedlock
5. Incarceration

To further cement the racist nature of the officers, it’s been revealed the air freshener in question was Black Ice.

She's not going to be charged with a crime for making an honest mistake. It's terrible that this happened (I guess), but it's still a mistake.

My God, so many people just want blood.

I remember that one time I had too much alcohol but thought I was fine to drive home. I ended up causing a wreck and killing someone in another vehicle. It sucks and it was tragic, but hey! It was an honest mistake.

That never happened, by the way, but the point still stands. If this were a trainee you might have a point...but this was a woman who had been serving on the force for the last 25 years. There are no excuses. She should have known better.

You say this while at the same time there are people on this site arguing that Wright deserved to die and that the world is a better place without him.
