Let me ask you a question: do you want a cop who can't tell the difference between a Glock and a taser on the streets, policing your neighborhood? Two things can be true at the same time: Daunte Wright's actions led to a weapon getting pulled and the weapon getting pulled and fired was the result of gross incompetence, bordering on negligence.

His actions led to his death, to be sure, but the gun used to kill him was not fired by itself. It required a triggerman and that triggerman was a cop who should be arrested and charged with manslaughter.

Why do you leave out his reentering the vehicle?

She should certainly be disciplined but you will no see manslaughter on this one and you shouldn't.

I wonder what the impetus was for that law, lol. Blocking your view through the windshield? How big were the air fresheners there?

Why did the cop grab the wrong weapon? I mean com’on and put an equal to more part of the blame where it belongs!

You are making a pretty significant judgement on a heat of the moment situation that you probably have little to no experience in here.

Possibly because I don't care.

So, "Oops, my bad!" is a valid enough excuse for you if the person wears a badge? Get outta here.

The cop fricked up and it resulted in his death. How do you not get that.

If she grabbed her taser, he would have been zapped, subdued, and arrested and we would never know his name.

If he had obeyed the law, he would have never been in an interaction with a police officer to begin with.

Stop making excuses and start putting the blame where it really belongs. Every one of these police shootings involves a violent criminal with a long rap sheet resisting arrest.

I agree. The cop should suffer the consequences. She doesn't get to just say "oopsie" after wrongfully killing someone. Race has nothing to do with it.

I don’t think anybody is arguing that. She’s fricked. He’s dead. They both made mistakes along the line that led to where we are. Both can be true. They aren’t mutually exclusive

Would you feel the same way if this were your family member?

Or do you only feel this way because of what we now know about the victim?

Until idiots like Displaced start harping on the thug/rap culture that glamorizes resisting arrest and stop parroting the fricked up racist BLM talking points this will continue happening. I mean for fricks sakes we had two teenage females in DC that carjacked a man leading to his death and it is no big deal. Then we have this brain dead waste of oxygen resist arrest, jump back into a car and he is some Saint that requires mass protests and looting. I mean how can you not see how screwed up all this is!

I'd say the blame weighs more on the person who grabbed the wrong weapon and killed someone... But hey, that's just me.

While Black America continues to burn it's own cities and self destruct.. over the same things again and again, crying for justice, when in fact...there seems to be a real issue with looking in the mirror and having an honest conversation with "self"...

the rest of us need to continue doing what we need to do for our families, and move along..

we're learning nothing we don't already know about elements within the black culture. Many believe whites are the reason for these issues. Or police are the reason...neither are remotely true

When woke nation wants to have a real conversation, we're ready, until then, enjoy the day

LMAO, are you having trouble here? I never said the cop should walk but you don't care about significant parts of the situation and want to put everything on the cop... The guy went back into his vehicle where he could very well have retrieved a weapon... You are discounting that as well...

My career field requires me to be able to affectively and competently handle a weapon. I do have some experience in high pressure situations as well, though admittedly none involving trying to apprehend a suspect. Bottom line: I've held both a taser and a gun and am smart enough to know the difference between the two.

Yeah, I think she’s gonna be more than “disciplined” and should be. You accepted the responsibility of knowing the difference between a taser and a hand gun even in a stressful situation when you took the oath. The city is on the hook for hiring somebody so incompetent. Buuuuut he still dead cause he fought the cops
