Watch Madison Prep Class of 2026: caps hurled, gowns twerked off, diplomas flung like confetti in pure bedlam.
This is what ‘high school graduation’ looks like when:
- Just 17% of Black students hit NAEP reading proficiency
- Only 7% reach math proficiency
Yet, 62% flood into college. “Getting me that grant money.” ??
24% actually finish.
Not a triumph. A tragedy in cap-and-gown drag.
We’ve spent trillions on ‘equity,’ lowered every bar, passed kids who can’t read the diploma they’re handed — and now act shocked when reality bites.
Data from NAEP and NCES don’t care about feelings: skills gaps persist because excuses replaced excellence, culture glorified chaos over competence, and parents got sidelined by a system that rewards enrollment over mastery.
This isn’t ‘systemic racism.’ It’s systemic denial. Real progress demands brutal honesty: rigorous standards, family accountability, cultural reboot. Anything less is child abuse dressed as celebration.
The video doesn’t lie. Neither do the numbers. Time to stop clapping for failure.

There’s no desire by anyone in power to “fix” this problem. Instead you are seeing institutions encourage and excuse the behavior. Plan accordingly.

Exactly. We are not even allowed to talk about it in plain and simple terms. As in my other thread touching on this subject, if we tried to discuss it here honestly, we'd get the ban hammer, so...the problem continues and is never resolved.

College degrees are like participation trophies.
Everyone gets one.
You want to do something, put an ROI on the degrees in order to qualify for federal student loans.
Undergraduate degrees are a grift on the federal government promulgated by universities and colleges peddling in useless degrees for $$

High school degrees too. I'm sick & tired of everyone getting participation trophies funded by our tax dollars.
At this point, I'm hardened, bitter, & cynical. I view it as an issue similar to homelessness - there are plenty of resources to help those who want it. The ones stuck are choosing to stay that way.
