Why doesn’t a republican majority congress and a republican president pass laws to prevent anchor babies?

Because Dems and Republicans are all against the people. The D or R is irrelevant once someone is elected. See Cassidy as an example and Letlow will be as well if elected.

Because people would rather elect retarded grifters who will own the libs on Twitter instead of actually represent people. The ones who actually introduce meaningful legislation get voted out for "grandstanding"

If the constitutional republic falls it will be through incremental progressivism and the judiciary is playing as big a role in the fall as any other US Institution.

You need a constitutional amendment which requires 2/3 majority in house and senate.

Good fricking luck.

Especially now that we have yet another ruling in favor of shitting out citizens.

As I just said in another post it comes down to votes in both the House and Senate. The House can probably get it passed but it would die in the Senate because there aren’t enough votes.

Even among the Republican ranks you would have trouble getting every Republican Senator to buy in and vote to do something to fix all this. Susan Collins and others would almost certainly not support fixing any of these problems. Some Senators wouldn’t do it just because Trump wants it done.

For the same reason that a democratic majority didn’t pass a law forbidding citizens to own guns - the constitution prevents it.

They literally can't without passing a constitutional amendment. That will probably never happen again.

Even a proposed constitutional amendment on anchor babies would not withstand Supreme Court review, as it would in itself be deemed in violation of the 14th amendment

That is an absolutely stupid question with the RINOs in the Senate, all of whom have been there longer than Trump.

This is the correct answer and people forget that before Trump every Republican presidential candidate was pro illegal immigration. Rubio and Cruz weren’t but they were both too scared to be public about it.

Blows my mind you have to spell this out for people.

They never consider the long term consequences of these ideas

Correct me if I’m wrong. Chain migration is not mentioned in the 14th amendment. Could we not just make that aspect illegal*? After all, this is the main objective of dropping your baby here.

*provided we had a functional majority

The Constitution is the final say on the matter. That's exactly what the Supreme Court exists to ensure. If the Constitution says no birthright citizenship, then the Supreme Court says that. Amendments can be, and have been, repealed. It's not easy. But there is precedent.
