re: City St. George is NOT incorporated, therefore is null, void and has no legal authority.

Yes. City of Baton Rouge is already bankrupt or very near to it and the Parish of EBR is not far behind. This is why the lower courts and 3 of the 4 justices voted against this City of SG from being able to happen. The only thing saving the city and parish from bankruptcy is the quick thinking by Mayor Sid Edwards and his administration and to cut about $15 million in unneccessary spending and over 400 city jobs from the payroll.
You guys call yourselves "small government Republicans", yet literally duplicated services and created an additional layer of government where non existed. Luckily Sid cut the cost where the new cost was created by voting in this colassal cluster frick.,
I am not saying that the city of St. George will not happen, or is happening, but it has no legal authority until it becomes incorporated.
The only reason 54% of the people in City of St. George voted for the city was because they were hoping to get their own school district like Central. And that is definitely not going to happen unless the Legislature changes the law because even if the State of Louisiana eventually votes to allow St. George to have their own school district (you can forget any support from New Orleans), the rest of East Baton Rouge parish will always outvote St. George everytime.

I don’t see how you fit commercial property, apartments, and a VA hospital in that small an area.

We actually voted to keep our two cent parish tax, form s government, and now we get services we paid for but never received.
Services I see:
Cleaner roadways
Better striping
New signage
Traffic aids
Ditches being cleaned
Local problems being addressed in our neighborhood

The homeless problem appears to have subsided a bit from what I’ve seen of Siegen.

I’ve lived in EBRP for 50+ years. St George is doing 1000% better than the City/Parish Government has ever done.
It’s also time for the City/Parish government system to be shite canned as well.
Let the blacks have 100% control over BR when the white Councilmen aren’t stopping them driving BR further into the gutter. See how that works out for the city. But the rest of the Parish will be better off. Let them suffer in the shite pile they created.

You want your property to be in the city of BR? You’re an idiot. I have property in the city limits of BR. I definitely wish it was all in St George and if not, then the unincorporated part of the Parish. Being inside the city limits is an albatross around their necks.

Yes it’s better.
They fixed interstate fencing, cut the overgrown ROWs where the homeless hid, and I haven’t seen many beggars at the Siegen exits.

this tells me all i need to know about you......
the more local government is, the smaller that government is......
I dont want DC running the nation, and I dont want a big city running the parish......we have more control and say over smaller government entities then we do mega government entities
