re: City St. George is NOT incorporated, therefore is null, void and has no legal authority.

I do not support more local government control of my property. I prefer my property being located in unincorporated Baton Rouge, outside the City of Baton Rouge. Less government is better government.
I am amazed at how many self proclaimed "Limited Government -Conservatives" actually support more local government control over their property.
And it really sad these sheep who call themselves "Conservatives" support these government bureaucrats dictating how the Klienpeter Family can use their property.
The only point of forming this city was to regain neighborhood control over the local public schools - but that will never happen because the rest of EBR Parish will outvote City of SG voters everytime, even if the State of Louisiana votes in our favor, also have to obtain a majority vote of parish too.

If an incorporation date has not been officially declared yet by Court with juridiction to do so yet, can an incorporation date be declared retroactively? Or must it be set in the present or future only?
The date of incorporation is at issue in in the lawsuit between City of StG and City of BR (and landowners) re: annexations after the petition drive started.
So, yes, there will be a ruling on the date of incorporation and it likely will be when the vote was certified by the governor. Kleinpeters (like typical shitbag lawyers) are trying to take advantage of the fact that regular incoporation processes have been delayed by incessant litigation.

Well, the people spoke differently. And i prefer my tax dollars going more directly to my needs than to downtown and let council of aging or CATS take a cut then tell me how i need to pay more taxes while not receiving any benefit from them.
The rest of your post has nothing to do with the point. Kleinpeters had no intention of using that land for anything until pecue widening happened and city of st. george incorporated. This thread is about a property owner wanting to take worthless property and make a buck (which i dont' blame them) but doing so at the cost of destroying home values for an entire neighborhood.

The Kleinpeter Family have owned their land for well over 100 years.
Their land was zoned Commerical long before any of those Single Family neighborhoods started being built next door.
The Kleinpeters and their commercial property were there first before the residential neighborhoods were built next door by the "greedy" neighborhood developers. (Since most of you folks like to label developers as "greedy" people).

And negating any traffic mitigation benefits to the widening of Pecue and the construction of the interchange.

The Governor has no legal authority to incorporate a city. According to Louisiana Law R.S. 33:4 only the Courts can legally declare an incorporation date.

Where did I say that?
I didn't.
I said that the COURT where the issue is pending will most likely rule the certification date is the date of incorporation.
Reading comprehension... get some.

Correct, and they have done nothing to it, except make hay.

Strange how Kleinpeters never built anything on that land or how no developer tried to buy it until then, isn't it?

Again, the Kleinpeters haven't used that land for anything in the past 100 years. Again, i lived there for about 6 years, and my house backed up to the field. All it was good for were coyotes. That area is not zoned for what the developer that wants to buy the land from Kleinpeter wants to use it for.
I get it, Kleinpeters have an opportunity to make money on useless land. They sell it to a commercial developer and now they have a windfall. However, in the past "100 years" or so that you claim that they owned it, a lot has happened. Development has happened. Zoning changes depending on what is around it. It doesn't matter if "it's my property". They can no more decide that they want to rezone to industrial than they can decide they want to rezone to heavy commercial. It's up to the local municipality of the zoning. I don't even think city of BR allowed the zoning that the developer wants to do.
All of this is sort of besides teh point, because the Kleinpeter's sole reason to stop the incorporation, is so they can personally benefit from a business deal. That's not going to happen. Sorry Kleinpeters.

Most residents are happy SG is giving local drainage problems. Miss see SG cutting grass and picking up trash. We see new signs on our streets. We see striping work being done. We see local traffic help. We see local services we never received before.
I’m glad to hear our permit office is enforcing codes. I’m glad the planning commission is active and trying to orchestrate growth.
I’ve lived in EBR for years and I’ve never seen local govt. working in so many places to do the little things we need done.
There’s a lot left to do, but at least we don’t have to drive to BR to see our tax dollars being spent.

If Michael Scott tried to start his own City.

Oh look more old school Baton Rouge royalty trying to find whatever loophole they can to improve their bank accounts and make the area around them worse.

How can this city be undone?
It can't. If you're curious about how this is gonna go, go ask the AI chatbot of your choice. The LA Supreme Court cannot be usrsurped. This can however cause the new city some headaches and money. Even Sid Edwards spoke out against it.
I do know one thing. I'm ready for St George to start going on offense a lot more. BR wants to poke the bear? Start fighting back. Last I checked, BR owes SG about $250 mil. Time to collect.
Posted on 7/24/26 at 3:52 pm to Capitalist
Big deal. The Supreme Court could just issue a clarification judgment stating when the date of incorporation is. Which actually should be done but doesn’t change the end result that St George is a city. If you want to nitpick about which date it’s incorporated, that’s fine but it doesn’t stop the existence of St. George and it’s zoning powers.
It’s a nothing burger that doesn’t undue anything.

It doesn't matter the parish attorney is still getting paid by the hour, whether he wins or loses.

The Parish Attorney should only be involved in this up to the extent to get a date of incorporation. To say St. George doesn’t have any authority is ridiculous and is using Parish resources to help litigate on behalf of the Kleinpeters. The Parish Attorney should be investigated.

And zoning of property can be changed. Happens all the time every year.

The zoning of that land is a defunct zoning type.
It going from being u incorporated BR to St George is a valid reason to rezone it.
