Their dominance of rare earth elements means many of our key industries can’t function without Chinese permission to do so.
That means that for now, we kowtow to them (student visas?).
Well, at least until we either find alternate sources, or bring our own sources online.
The good news is that the latter is occurring. The bad news is that is a year out at a minimum.
This is currently happening.
Let’s hope that the calendar is kind.

Not sure about 20 years but People say it because it’s true.
China has necessary rare earth materials needed for the batteries that run the electric cars.
High gas prices alwsys give incentive to drive non gas vehicles.

This is at least a more real valid excuse for Trump putting China dick in his mouth. It’s better than the weak Americans won’t do these jobs

There's always some really bad takes on this board
China needs us too
Can The Small Town Of Spruce Pine NC Bring China To Its Knees?

Essential Semiconductor Supply Chain: Spruce Pine, North Carolina, hosts rare mines that produce the world’s purest quartz. This material is not just for computer chips but specifically for the high-grade crucibles needed to melt silicon for wafers.

The necessary rare earth is trash as we have all the rare earth deposits needed. The rub is the refining process which environmentalist and lawyers use current laws to beat them over the head with.

Then the price of electricity goes up, start getting weird charges on your electric bill etc, cost more to charge at a charging station. People who think that won't happen are fricking clueless

This. Deregulate and get rid of all the bullshite "carbon credits" and green mandates, this wouldn't be a problem for making steel, mining coal, or for most of the US industry that has been killed off by domestic suicide.

Well, there has to be some reasons why Trump is very much pro 500,000 Chinese students.
So yeah, if there was good news, he would be the first to announce it.
