What US law enforcement agency is going to go to China (with their permission/cooperation), find a million "citizens," secure extradition, and transport them back to the US for trial?
No need for all of that. Just issue a warrant so that they will be arrested the next time they come into the country. In the meantime, penalties accrue.

Hey, it just so happens that we hired a buncha IRS goons. How bout we send em overseas to menace birthright Chinese-Americans.
It's a privilege of citizenship.
It's a privilege of citizenship.

what would they pay? FEIE is like 130k a year. It would amount to little more than a compliance obligation. Yeah, they should be compliant. Just don't expect them to owe.
You ever filed an expat tax return and claimed the exemption, you think its like checking the box for an extra dependent lollllllll.
Well since we are throwing around acronyms....
China is considered "compliant" with the (FATCA) under a Model 1 (IGA) "in substance".
Which just means China aint giving you shat on their citizens bank accounts.

If they don't ever return to the US no problem. But if they try to return or vote absentee, problem.

They they would lose their citizenship permanently.
Nice fantasy, but Congress doesnt have the power to strip someone of their birthright citizenship. Its like, a birthright or something.

The US income tax system is citizenship based. Foreign earnings must be reported. This is all correct.
While loss of citizenship is not an available consequence of failure to file a return, this is a huge issue that citizens born here and raised elsewhere are likely unaware of. This is an interesting issue.

We can't cut off trade with China.
And they know it.
quote:
Bilateral trade between the United States and China has plummeted significantly, with U.S. goods imports from China dropping by roughly 42% over the last two years, falling from $536 billion in 2022 to $308.4 billion in 2025. Driven by a massive wave of aggressive tariffs and supply chain decoupling, total direct trade volume has dropped below 10% of overall U.S. trade for the first time in over 30 years
Well, we have reduced it 42% IN TWO YEARS. So yes, we absolutely can reduce it to zero.

Thank you for that info. I do agree, we can take it to zero, especially when it comes to protecting the value of being a United States CITIZEN. Once people realize just exactly what is going on, they will not buy Chinese products!!
How China reacts will be very interesting.

They can and we will take away their right to vote.
And then the SCOTUS will give it right back to them.
They've already ruled them citizens. What Constitutional basis would there be to deprive legal citizens their vote?

Y'all please, for once, just do a quick search and see what we import from China.
Yes, there's rubber dog shite. But there's a whole lot of stuff that we can't stop buying from them. Not in the short or medium term, anyway.

Go ahead and refuse to pay your taxes. After the felony conviction, you can not vote.

Where did I write that?
The point is that in practice few would owe so "make them pay" is an empty rallying cry. Read the words on the page next time.

If they could actually be charged, they would not be able to come to the United States without prosecution.
Not sure of the validity of this, however

Why would they care if they gave up US citizenship?
Im a US citizen, ancestors arrived 350 years ago. Didnt stop the govt from incarcerating me many times in the "glass box" in Miami airport.......while 1000s of foreigners walked right past me into the US.
Only to find out it was a "computer flaw"
During the bird flu scare the US embassy informed he that if there was a vaccine it was for embassy personnel, including locals......and not US citizens.
"Foreigners" have far more benefits that US citizens, why would they bother?
