If it has not been eradicated then going back to life as normal will allow it to again escalate.

This means:

A. it will take off again
B. a cure has been implemented
C. environmental factors are no longer favorable for its spreäd
D. the new normal means personal distancing and sanitation have changed greatly there
E. something other than the virus was the real cause
F. life is not normal again DESPITE news stories.

I wonder just how far this would have gone had it not been an election year.

It makes sense. Once the virus has died down, People panic less and the world returns to normal.

Indian number maybe a misnomer. Caste Undesirable's are likely to be massively under reported.

Any of them caught defending f**king China in the middle of this should put on blast, early and often. That is shameful and is proof that they don't have our best interests in mind.

And please- don't anyone claim this isn't happening. You know it is.

That could be. I also have no idea what their testing capabilities are, in the first place.

Still trust them more than the Chinese as far as disclosure goes, though....

Can't have Corona if you don't test for it.

I get that, but then if South Korea did a much better job testing than Japan, wouldn't we see better fatality outcomes?

Japan has 127m people, and only 29 Covid-19 deaths.
S.Korea has 51.5m people, and 84 Covid-19 deaths.

Unless the fatality numbers are unreliable for some reason, my math is telling me you are 8x more likely to die of the virus in S.Korea than you are in Japan.

If you don't test for coroona how can you attribute a death to corona?

Why does S. Korea (8,413 cases) keep getting all this credit when Japan has 899 cases?

Because the American media has discovered that South Korea administered an enormous amount of tests. That information provided the narrative needed for the orange man to be bad.

Having spent a little time in several SE Asian countries (never been to S Korea) I don't believe what any of their governments say.

I've yet to see a good explanation for why this may be incorrect.

1 of 3 possible explanations I can come up with:

1) Its just not as bad as everyone thinks, it hits hard then has a very low mortality rate and life goes on.

2) Those regions don't care about old and compromised people dying. Old and compromised people seem to have the highest mortality and maybe those countries just don't care.

3) It is a Chinese developed bio weapon that the evil bastards had a vaccine for their people already worked out for.

I hope it is #1, think it is most like that. It could be #2 because its China (doesn't explain SK).

If it is #3 I hope we go to no holds barred war with China and ruin those communist bastards.

Not only did S Korea do a ton of testing, they went over and beyond with quarantining, just not the way everyone else is.

what they did not do is say "ok, everyone stay at home and do nothing"
what they did do is every time someone tested positive, they traced their every move using credit card info, phone records and others and actually uploaded everything in an app to show where known people with the virus had been in the past few days. That person was then self quarantined and it let everyone else in the country know if they may have come in contact with a person with it.

they learned their lesson from MERS, and had a plan ready if it ever happen again.
Oh and MERS stands for Middle East blah blah, but if anyone wants to rename it b/c they are offended they can eat a dick.

Are you suggesting that dozens (or even hundreds) of Japanese have died from Covid-19, but they don't know it? I'm not saying you're wrong, I just find that incredible if true.
