Not significant enough to overrun their healthcare and cause a bunch of deaths. Singapore still has 0 deaths and they didn't ruin their economy in the process

Are you suggesting that dozens (or even hundreds) of Japanese have died from Covid-19, but they don't know it? I'm not saying you're wrong, I just find that incredible if true.

what's so crazy about it?
you think it's really that important to investigate why a 90 year old died from some flu like symptoms, or some 75 year old that smoked for 65 years died from some respiratory failure? They die and everyone says well they lived a good life, they are in a better place, etc...

You think India hasn't had thousands of deaths already b/c of this? one of the most over populated and least hygienic countries in the entire world, that borders China? People are dying, and they are expected to die, so it's not a big deal. If someone was doing some major testing in India, they'd likely be the leader in cases and deaths by a wide margin right now.

What's crazy to me is the idea that Japan is so sloppy or behind the times that they can't even tell during this worldwide pandemic whether they've had dozens or hundreds or thousands of deaths from this virus.

And yet, supposedly, other countries like Italy, China, S.Korea can.

I just always pictured Japan as being on the forefront, a leader of high-tech nations (especially Asian nations).

let's just say covering up stats that make Japan look bad fits exactly within their society/culture

they're very liberal with defining what even constitutes a crime worthy of investigation

I was actually going to bring this topic up in my earlier response but thought against it.

Yeah Japan manipulates facts to make things seem better in their country. What is it for their police like 98 or 99% crime solved rate.

That is just impossible to accomplish.

To thread: Why is it so f'ing hard for all you dumb f's to understand that diagnosing a brand new virus threat that mimics an illness that many people treat at home will not and can not have accurate data. Throw in different countries treating the CV differently (amount of testing etc.) and the reported numbers for death rate and infections will of course not be the same from place to place EVEN IF THE TRUE NUMBERS ARE IDENTICAL!
