Just wow. I’ve been thinking about this aswell and I couldn’t have said it any better or more direct than what the OP did. I hope more liberals see the degeneracy of their ways. ...

re: WSJ: Federal Tax revenue up 4% in 2019 - 90proofprofessional
With distance from the "flat year" and in the absence of major economic upheaval, we'd expect relatively stable revenue to GDP growth.
Sure, but we gave something up, that is recurring. Growth has to accelerate by a lot to offset that in tax revenues. And it has to be sustaine...

if we were trying to rigorously tease out a causal effect, that'd be a good way to do it, especially since (i think) it applies to both the corp rate and the passthru rate? something more accessible that could be done would just be to look at cash collections by month. you'd see a timing differen...
The answer is nothing has gone up
oh ok I'd be curious if anyone would support you in asserting this, as stated. I'd also be curious if maybe you'd want to refine your phrasing a bit. I mean, your words could fairly be interpreted as asserting 0.0% inflation since January 2018. ...
since you asserted that tax revenue did NOT outpace GDP, it's kinda on you to show that
As I just said, the average of quarterly y/y's was easily a better estimate for 2018's annual GDP than was q4/q4. My method results in about 2.92. Yours yields 2.5. And the annual figu...
4% growth is 8% better than 3.7% growth.
i already told you, 3.7 is a comparison of two quarters, it's not cumulative. but tax revenue is. that's why you need to look at the Y/Y growth for every quarter...
Good. So. What is the expected 2019 nominal GDP growth? I'll tell you. 3.7%
that's just a comparison of two quarters, man
nd, that means that the tax revenue grew about 8% faster than GDP.
first, you probably mean "0.8" second, you're comparing a real fi...
