Are electronic prices the greatest success of capitalism in history?

I think Clay Travis has a point here. I can’t think of another product in history that has seen such a remarkable collapse in price. Perhaps Rockefeller/Standard oil in 19th century with Kerosene/oil prices?
It’s frustrating because you see these massive price collapses which should cause capitalism popularity to rise, but then turn around and see something as seemingly simple as childcare soar 450% since 1980s.

If AI is as good as advertised, we will see deflation across many products and services. The deflation in electronics is directly related to factory automation and competition.

What will billions of people around the world be doing when AI, automation and robotics assume the majority role of production? We've seen automobile production go from very little automation/robotics in 1980 to auto plants full of automation and robotics.
In 1980 a vehicle required around 35 labor hours to complete, in the year 2025 a vehicle requires around 22 labor hours complete. How long will it be until the typical auto plant has a few dozen people working in support of a fully automated vehicle production plant? Probably in the next 5-10 years and one should assume if auto/vehicle production becomes +90% automated other manufacturing and industrial facilities will follow the same course of automation.

One could argue thats the same issue with automobiles. Every time they put in some new regulations the auto companies have to retool, then the next law changes it back, or adds another, etc. It adds 1000s of needless cost to a vehicle.
Even if the reg is dropped that manufacturer will have to depreciate or amortize the initial cost onto vehicles for years, even if its not there anymore.

More women in the workplace. Less stay at home moms. The economy evolved to a two income household. Couples decided they needed to incomes to make it. Childcare industry takes advantage of this raises costs because of increased demand.

Electronics pricing has decreased due to automation and cheap foreign labor, neither of which has anything to do with childcare.

Personally I think it’s giving the poor access to a kings diet and healthcare. The simple fact that the poorest Americans live better than the richest of kings 500 years ago is testament to capitalism.

Well thats just not true. I have a $150 smart TV from Walmart in my shop overhang thats 6 or 7 years old and still works fine, bird nests and dust and weather and all.
