Got a one time $500 check from the treasury today and a letter stating it was a refund of surplus funds for taxpayers who bought an ACA plan and didn’t receive subsidies

It’s legit too. Most big news orgs have articles saying it was happening .

Just an FYI

Going out to about 1 million of us lucky ones in 30 states apparently

Was not expecting it.

Someone posted their 15 hundo check already. I wish I got a check. I looked at the obama scam marketplace once and the prices were asinine.

Is everyone getting paper checks, any DDs?

I’m not getting anything because I didn’t depend on the Obamacare for health insurance.

I have private insurance because my income dropped last year for health issues I got a subsidy this year. My $800 insurance went to $165. But then OMB said ACA bad and my premiums went up to $765. Yay.
I cannot for the love of me see what cutting the program solved.

"Real job" what of you are self employed and have to buy your own insurance?
Honestly I rather people paying some to insurance. The true poor STILL have free insurance. Now you just made it unavailable for millions in the middle. But who cares let's send that money to Isreal

Traditional Medicare can be just as bad as having no insurance unless you have a Medicare Advantage plans or have hospice care.

With traditional Medicare you pay 20% of the billed amount, so this is where the game begins in billing. If the doctor or specialist charges 300 for the visit you pay 60 dollars, but Medicare has a reimbursement rate that is much less than the 240 dollars remaining from the billed amount. Plus there are no annual out of pocket max with traditional Medicare. So if you have a multi million dollar cancer treatment, good luck paying for that one. But there are Medigap plans available.

A lot of commercial health insurers use this same model in billing. I wish medical providers would advertise rates more publicly than having to consult Magic8 ball to determine how much Medicare, your insurance, or you will pay out of pocket each time you need services.

Medicare Advantage sucks. I have a very good secondary to Medicare A and B and have had 3 surgeries and have never been balance billed other than deductables.
