I think it’s a requirement to be trash to go to crab island at all and specifically right after school is out during summer vacation

I know a guy that runs a boat down there and runs excursions to crab island. Almost all bachelorette party groups and girls trip groups. He is living his best life.

I’ve seen some of the feral fight videos from prior years. Those people literally turned the turquoise water of Crab Island into the olive drab water of Lake Maurepas. I don’t even want to think about how they managed that. I guess this is why 30A is so overcrowded. The people of quality have been run off from Destin, PCB, etc.

Apparently the bigger problem is that they linger in Destin after the event instead of returning to Mobile/NOLA/Jackson etc.

I have never verified this but I heard that large hotel next to the bridge offers cheap rates and discounts on party boat rentals, and that is the reason you see the trashy in the last few years at Crab island.
Again, haven't verified it.

Most locals don’t even go there anymore, we have an equal less trashy spot.
Last time I was there a pontoon driven by someone who has probably never driven a boat ran directly into a 48’ Tiara. The boat owner calmly called okaloosa police, not so sure I would have handled it that well.
