This includes student loans! The student loan system is broken and needs to be completely redone. Kudos to Trump for having the stones to do this. We don’t need to fund all of these history and sociology majors!! Hopefully some of these kids wise up and learn a trade.

I know a guy with a lot money, who has a "ranch" out in Wyoming. Our government pays him big buck to do nothing with it. No farming or cattle. He collects a check for land he owns and uses it to hunt pheasants and such.

Hopefully, they’ve made an exception for highway construction projects around the country. A lot of those are a mix of federal and state funds.

To be fair I don’t think the OMB memos cover •all• grant funding but it’s very unclear what this applies to.

Prove it? Just because some are smarter than you, stronger than you and more qualified than you don’t make them dei. That’s what you put in your head to make u feel secure that you superior to others when you know you are not!

Many of these grants are for helping small businesses overcome the cost of entry barrier in different industries. There is no way that many small businesses can comply with legal and environmental regulations without financial assistance.

Hmm, I think i see the problem here and it's not the grants.

Are you expecting to get a refund check in the mail because federal funds were (potentially illegally) paused?

I think this is headed to the Supreme Court.

It think that’s a good chance if Court wants to take the case. The Trump admin has to transmit a “special message” to both Houses of Congress identifying the budget amounts, the specific accounts involved, etc. These OMB memos don’t do that so I don’t think they even get the 45-day pause.

And when he refuses to spend the money, they will likely get some lib judge to issue a restraining order. But they can't rule on every dollar and every grant in existence, so this will have to go to the USSC.

Hammer, I think i see the problem here and it's not the grants.

A little bit of hyperbole but not that far off; Without environmental regulations and protections; the waters and air quality of the US would look a lot like India's or China's. It is the responsibility of the US and State to protect public resources.

Coastal restoration by the federal government is one of the biggest grifts on taxpayer dollars you have ever seen.
This shite has gone on for 50 years. Billions spent for absolutely nothing.

Return on taxpayer dollar is probably less than 1%.

There's billions in existing infrastructure projects with federal funding that are ongoing. All of these would have to have an existing signed grant agreement between the federal and state/local agency. I'm not sure how federal reimbursements could be stopped in these cases, as those funds have already been obligated.

And if somehow this reimbursements could be stopped, you'll end up with a ton of local agencies running out of money. They depend on the federal funding for infrastructure projects the feds already committed to.

Cherokee Nation Marshals that sit on their asses in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Doing shite, all 70 of them. The whole Marshals Service is funded with Federal Grants.

Good thing they are a sovereign nation.

have a relative that has a fed job based on a farming or landtype grant.
He works from home and does absoluelty nothing but draw a check and go out and look at ponds/land to see if they need a pond in a small county in Arkansas. He "moves his mouse" a couple times a day and draws a check.

Please provide a link so I can apply? I will actually drive around a lot looking at beautiful, undeveloped land. That's my happy place.

TIA.
