Yeah from what I'm seeing the assumption is this wouldn't apply to already obligated funds. I doubt the intent here is to stop tons of infrastructure projects already underway. At least I hope not.

Many many kids rely on Pell grants for college. Does this affect those?

So kids in school who have federal loans or grants.....what does this do to them ? Because fb is full of screaming moms saying trump just ruined all these college student lives and now they cant pay their tuition.

They need to check these to see those that graduate versus those that dont.

We are wasting money everywhere.

They are open enrollment now - don’t need a test score - check the right boxes and you’re in. I know all about them in 70’s and 80’s. I’m well aware.

If the Feds control the cash yes.

That would not be good because those are earned scholarships.

Grants and scholarships are not equal.

“Federal Pell grants and direct loans are not impacted, the OMB told reporters, citing provisions in the order stating that financial assistance to “individuals” is exempt.”

How so? A 1550 SAT by son with perfect 800 in math, a 4.8 in AP classes and #4 GPA in school with 800 graduates and played football and baseball. A 34 ACT by daughter with two perfect scores in English and Reading, #2 ranked GPA out of 900 students with 4.87 GPA and on 2 dance teams. GFYS.

It is the best - no doubt - in 2020 LSU was 2nd in petroleum engineering and now in 2024 tied for 6th - LOL

Yes bc a lot of those students got in because of their parents and not qualified. They should have gone to UL.

All student loans? My gf son is pre law. Finishing his freshman year. Got a lot of grants and aid. He will have to wait till the government fixes it?

Per State and Federal officials the payment portal is back up and there won't be a delay in payments.
