Which specific subsidies were offered to the companies currently planning and building in the US?

Louisiana has gotten some very solid pledges lately as well compared to other states. I think most of those will come to fruition

Are you saying those projects will not happen?
Probably not. A lot of (smart) companies will “commit” to moving theoretical jobs and facilities here to gain favor with the admin and then wait out the clock on this administration before scrapping those commitments after the next election.

That’s not very specific. Which subsidies, specifically, were offered to the specific companies that are planning to build here?

The chip factory in texas is already in progress at least

I appreciate you answering the question. I disagree, but at least you took a stand.

Using your analogy, what MAGA/Trump is saying is that you are being taken advantage of, so your next move should be to sleep with your neighbor's wife as well. No longer have a sex deficit!

What “tack” should he change to?

What a myopic take.
So you’re ok with America and Americans having less wealth because we appear to be doing ok compared to some other unnamed countries at first glance?
We’re about to spend $1T per year merely servicing our nation’s $37T debt, but yeah, let’s keep up the shitty trade deals.

Fair enough. I just don’t see how any CEO is actually going to push these huge investments forward in an environment with this degree of political and economic uncertainty.

This is like saying if your car is barely leaking oil it’s ok.
Yeah, so in this case instead of fixing the leak, what you should instead is total your car. Then start from scratch with a new one. Got it.

My understanding of the CHIP act is that it is limited to the semiconductor industry. Are all of the projects limited to that business?

This is because they have an inadequate understanding of the issues.
